PVL UPDATE: Major questions for every PVL team after All-Filipino Conference.
Lots of time for PVL teams to prepare for the PVL Invitational in June.
In just the first conference of the 2023 season, teams in the PVL have already delivered a surplus of awesome matches and highlight plays.
With some time before the PVL Invitational, teams will have a lot to figure out in order to get to the mountaintop. Now is as good a time as any to gauge a squad's standing and how they can move forward.

📌 ARMY BLACK MAMBA LADY TROOPERS 👉 Will they get back Jovelyn Gonzaga?
The Army sorely missed Jovelyn Gonzaga’s presence during the All-Filipino Conference. With 2023 Southeast Asian Games finished by the time the Invitational tilt begins, this paves the way for the Bionic Illongga to return to the team.
📌 AKARI CHARGERS 👉 Have they built enough experience in the PVL?
The Chargers are in their second season in the PVL. Now that they have more experience in the bag, can they finally compete against some of the best?
With Dindin Santiago-Manabat and Bang Pineda bringing their talent and experience to the team, it’s now up to the young ones of Akari to match that and elevate their own game, especially when faced with adversities.
📌 CHOCO MUCHO FLYING TITANS 👉 Can they smoothen out their flaws?
High expectations were set for the Flying Titans coming into the All-Filipino Conference. After all, they snapped up the services of coach Dante Alinsunurin, who has been known to deliver championships for his teams. That wasn’t the case, however, as Choco Mucho finished seventh with a dismal 2-7 win-loss card.
With more time under Alinsunurin’s system, can the Flying Titans finally soar to greater heights?
📌 CIGNAL HD SPIKERS 👉 Can they get back to the Top 4?
In the 2022 PVL season, the HD Spikers finished as one of the four best teams in every conference. However, come the All-Filipino tourney, Cignal struggled to find their footing as they finished sixth with a lowly 3-5 record.
In the next conference, the HD Spikers will definitely seek to regain their prowess and reach the semifinals once more.
📌 CHERY TIGGO CROSSOVERS 👉 Who can they depend on aside from Mylene Paat?
Mylene Paat has carried the Crossovers ever since, but the buhatera era has its limits. When Mama P is defended well by opposing teams or when she’s having an off night, who can Chery Tiggo depend on?
Coach Aaron Velez will have his hands full if the Crossovers want to get another shot at winning the title.
📌 PLDT HIGHSPEED HITTERS 👉 How can they get over the hump and reach the finals?
It was another semifinals finish for the High Speed Hitters—something they can definitely build on if they want to finally break through and reach the finals.
Can PLDT finally do it in the PVL Invitational? Or will it be just another Top 4 finish?
📌 F2 LOGISTICS CARGO MOVERS 👉 Can they fulfill their championship potential?
The Cargo Movers finally achieved their first podium finish in the PVL, capturing a bronze medal in the All-Filipino Conference. Now, they’re looking to up that by reaching the finals, and even win the title.
On paper, it's easy to see that the squad in yellow can be serious contenders, but whether they can put it all together and reach that championship goal remains to be seen.
📌 PETROGAZZ ANGELS 👉 Can they continue their impressive run?
In Game 2 of the All-Filipino Conference finals, the Angels were just one set away from winning it all. They fell short, but they are primed to make a finals return.
From the onset, Petro Gazz seems to have all the tools run it back and contend again for the championship, provided that they learn their lessons.
Will the Invitational conference be theirs?
📌 CREAMLINE COOL SMASHERS 👉 Will they finally get the grand slam?
Winning the 2023 All-Filipino Conference? Check. That's one down, two more to go.
There are no signs of slowing down for Creamline. They look poised to remain dominant. Slowly but surely, they are climbing to their goal of achieving that elusive grand slam season. Will this finally be the season they do it?
