‘BIRTHDAY KO NGAYON, LIBRE ANG TAHO’ 🥹

Photographer Fritz dela Cruz from Capas, Tarlac, shared a heartwarming story during the Scott Kelby Worldwide Photowalk 2025 Tarlac Leg on October 4, 2025.

While walking along F. Tañedo Street, he met Tatay Ruben, a taho vendor who offered free taho to passersby in celebration of his birthday — a tradition he has kept for at least three years.

When asked why he gives away taho on his special day, Tatay Ruben humbly said:

“Kahit mahirap lang ako, ang importante napapasaya natin ang mga tao kahit sa simpleng bagay.”

In his post, Dela Cruz reflected:

“Even though he is not rich, Tatay Taho showed that kindness of heart matters more than wealth. Through his simple gesture, he reminded us that true celebration is not about what we receive, but about what we are willing to share.”
