We tried Le Petite Chef at Grand Hyatt Taguig for our anniversary after seeing it on TikTok while looking for a fun fine dining experience, and honestly it was such a good choice. The place has a very elegant and luxurious vibe, but what makes it really special is the experience feels like you’re watching a mini theater show while eating. There’s storytelling before every dish, so it’s not just dinner, it actually feels like part show, part fine dining.

We had the 5-course meal with an appetizer, three main dishes, and dessert. Before each course, they explain the ingredients, where they came from, and the story behind the dish, which makes you appreciate the food more while eating.

Yes, it’s pricey, but for us it’s super worth it because the food quality is really good and the whole experience is fun, interactive, and something different. Perfect for anniversaries, birthdays, or if you want a more special kind of dinner.

Trying TikTok recos at Omote San Juan and honestly… it lived up to the hype

Here’s what we tried:

Salmon Booster Chirashi (₱1,200)
If you’re a salmon lover, this one’s a must. The salmon is super fresh and the quality is really good. It also comes with caviar plus mixed seafood like tuna and sea urchin, so every bite feels loaded.

Hiratake Yaki Shrooms (₱495)
Simple but really good. The sauce ties everything together and the cherry tomatoes add a nice balance to the mushrooms.

Umami Ji-Tori Karaage (₱495)
Super juicy and tender chicken. Really flavorful and honestly one of the better karaage I’ve tried.

Tofu Cheesecake (₱295)
Very soft and light. As a dessert lover, I personally wanted a bit more sweetness, but if you’re not into overly sweet desserts, this is perfect.

Overall, it’s definitely on the pricier side, but the freshness and quality of the food make it worth trying.

📍 Omote
8 V. Ibanez St. corner Jose Abad Santos St., San Juan, Metro Manila
Casual and cozy spot for lunch or dinner, but it gets packed so reservations are recommended.

If you’ve been seeing Omote all over TikTok too… this might be your sign to try it. 🍣✨

📍Concordia’s Cafe, Tagaytay City

Finally tried Concordia’s Cafe and here are the dishes we’d actually go back for:

The clam chowder was super comforting and flavorful, definitely a favorite. The New Zealand beef tapa bowl was solid too, with tender meat and s**a that complemented it well. Their Pizza Margherita surprised us in a good way. Simple, well-balanced, and really masarap. The matcha lava pastry was also a win. Sakto lang yung sweetness and very matcha-forward.

The pork adobo flakes bowl didn’t hit for us. Medyo dry yung meat with a peanut-like aftertaste, so we’d skip this one.

They also have a wide selection of coffee and pastries, perfect pang-dessert or pang-tambay. Ambiance is super IG-worthy with indoor, alfresco, second-floor seating, plus a photo booth. May waiting time, but we’d definitely come back for the coffee, pastries, and overall vibe.

📍 Sky Garden Bistro
Ace Water Spa, Pasig City

Lunch date with a view, so we tried Sky Garden Bistro and here’s the honest breakdown:

•Cajun Fried Shrimp
Best eaten hot. Super fresh shrimp, crunchy outside, juicy inside. Solid appetizer.

•Enoki Mushroom Tempura
Really good. Fresh enoki, perfectly fried, and the dip complements it well.

•Oyster Mushroom Tempura
Crunchy outside, well-cooked inside. Another good starter with a nice dip.

•Pork Pot Roast with Truffle Risotto
This one surprised us. Lasang-lasa yung truffle, and the pork pairs really well with it. Loved the soft spring beans on top too.

•Hamburger Steak
This one was just okay. Medyo maasim yung sauce and the patty and the gravy didn’t stand out for us. Not our favorite.

•Drinks
Passion fruit drink was okay.
Calamansi juice was a bit bland and sour.
Both were complimentary.

Service
Staff were attentive and kind, which we really appreciated.

Overall, good place for a relaxed lunch, especially if you’re already at Ace.

Weekend recap

Post-dinner coffee run at 717 Coffee ☕️

Tried their sea salt coffee which was surprisingly really good, and the 717 signature coffee too.

Perfect pang-end ng dinner, just the right caffeine fix before going home.

Pumunta kami dito mainly for the airbase kasi gusto namin mag-picture with the old airplanes on display. Super nice spot for quick lakad and photos🤍

After that, nag-coffee lang kami nearby sa Bloom & Brew. Okay yung coffee nila and very affordable. We ordered the iced sea salt latte and their Biscoff drink, which we loved since Biscoff lovers talaga kami. May food din sila, pero coffee muna kami this time.

If you’re visiting the airbase, madami ring kainan around so easy lang mag food trip after.

Tried a Pampanga classic ✨

This spot is one of the most recommended Kapampangan restaurants we’ve seen on Reddit, and now we get why. We had lunch here and everything tasted rich, comforting, and very home-style 🤎

What to order:
Shrimp ukoy – not too salty, and the s**a really completes the flavor
Crispy tadyang – beef ribs made crispy pata style, super lambot and flavorful
Binukadkad na hito – eaten parang samgyeopsal but Kapampangan style, with steamed veggies and binuro
Bringhe – Filipino paella made with glutinous rice, chicken, vegetables, and coconut milk

Definitely coming back to try their Binulo specialty next time, since we found out late na it’s cooked inside bamboo.
