Began my professional journey as a special needs teacher, working in classrooms with a background in occupational therapy. That was the work at the time.

In 2003, I was bitten by the chess bug—and soon after, the sports world opened up again. It reminded me of my grade school varsity days and my active high school years.

I coached for one season in the NCAA, handling the Junior Chess Altas in Season 84.

Eventually, I transitioned into teaching Physical Education, Health, and Community Service, while running my own sports camps in chess and basketball. Along the way, I met people from nearly every corner of the sports ecosystem—coaches, officials, administrators, volunteers—each contributing to the bigger picture.

I also found joy in writing online. Paid articles came here and there, as I explored a wide range of interests—from sports and education to topics only self-confessed nerds openly admit to enjoying.

Came Coach Noli Ayo of the OSLP. Through him, I gained a deeper understanding of Olympism—something every sportsman should truly appreciate.

Then came Live Your Dream Season 2: Basketball Edition.

More than 700 young ballers were given the opportunity to aspire, to be seen, and to believe in their potential.

Because of this project, one man also pursued a dream—connecting people and building communities through sport.

Through this initiative, more grassroots players were given chances that would otherwise be ignored, passed on, or worse—never offered at all.

Thank you, Ken Saito, for giving hundreds of young Filipino ballers an experience they will carry for life.

Together, let us aspire.
Let us dream.
Live Your Dream.

The Scholastic Basketball Camp 3x3 Age Group Championships was originally created to give campers a proper competitive environment where they could apply what they learned in training. What began as a simple camp tournament has now reached Season 5, growing into a multi-age group championship that brings together schools, communities, coaches, families, and partners—far bigger than originally envisioned.

In the Under 12 Division, we congratulate the Grade School team of Luis Ferrer Integrated National High School (photo) for emerging as champions through consistency, teamwork, and discipline. Team Dylan finished as 1st Runner-Up, with their only loss coming against the eventual champions, reflecting strong effort and resilience. La Camelle School claimed the 2nd Runner-Up position, while Team Scholastic Basketball Camp placed as 4th Runner-Up, showing steady growth and competitive spirit throughout the tournament.

This continuing journey is made possible through the support of our Circle of Supporters: JCR Ansus Sports Foundation, iCARE Intervention Specialists, Jonah Guerrero of Publiko Kitchen Cafe, and Kaiju Cafe, Pocari Sweat Philippines, Ms. Beck Madeja Velasquez of Pulso ng Makabagong Cavitenyo, together with Mr. and Mrs. Ian Sean San Miguel, Ila Grace De Barras, Retired General Gamaliel Cruz, Ariel Arias III of Cavite School of St. Mark, and Alejandro Bejerano Gernale and Family.

Season after season, the championships remain grounded in their original purpose—providing meaningful competition, reinforcing character, and helping young athletes grow through real game experiences. The Under 12 division once again reminded us that when opportunities are created with intention, development follows.

All that All that And when it mattered most... silence. spent the game chest-thumping, and acting like the crown was already his. Problem is, doesn’t show up on the scoreboard. Because when the lights got brightest, it was who played basketball, and Jakrawan who played the role of extra.

Celebrate after you win. Otherwise, the highlight becomes the loss.

The Under 14 Division of the recently concluded Season 5 Scholastic Basketball Camp 3x3 Age Group Championships in Imus City was a strong example of how character development is learned—and tested—through competition. On the court, players were challenged not only by opponents, but by moments that required composure, teamwork, effort, and respect.

We congratulate the Under 14 Champions, Young Hustle (photo), led by Scholastic Basketball Camp veteran camper Zach Santos, whose leadership and maturity reflected lessons built over time. Finishing as 1st Runner-Up via tie-break was La Camelle School, mentored by Coach Dan Pacas, showing resilience and discipline until the final game. The 2nd Runner-Up honors went to Team OBLAX from SC1–Tanzang Luma 4, whose energy and teamwork were evident throughout the tournament.

This event was made possible through the continued support of our Circle of Supporters: JCR Ansus Sports Foundation, Professor Nats Tangonan of iCARE Intervention Specialists, Jonah Guerrero of Publiko Kitchen Cafe, and Kaiju Cafe, Pocari Sweat Philippines, and Ms. Beck Madeja Velasquez of Pulso ng Makabagong Cavitenyo, together with Mr. and Mrs. Ian Sean San Miguel, Ila Grace De Barras, Retired General Gamaliel Cruz, Ariel Arias III of Cavite School of St. Mark, and Alejandro Bejerano Gernale and Family.

Our sincere thanks also go to our coaches—Migs, Nathan, Aaron, Moses, Ranold, and Ferdie—for shaping athletes beyond the scoreboard. Special appreciation to Teacher Claire, our Business Manager and Chef, and Admin Staff Freedom for taking care of everyone throughout the day, to our game officials led by DEPED Regional Referee Sir Migs, and to the SSC of The Village Homeowners Association for their support.

At the Under 14 level, lessons matter more than medals. What these young athletes learned—respect under pressure, teamwork in adversity, and character in competition—are values they will carry far beyond the court.
