Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation invited us to attend the Japan Mobility Show 2025, where we had the opportunity to see a new concept car unveiled ahead of its global audience. The event served as the stage for the debut of the Mitsubishi Elevance Concept, an electrified crossover that previews the company’s direction toward sustainable and adventure-inspired mobility.

The model illustrates Mitsubishi’s steady progress in hybrid powertrain development and its focus on delivering vehicles that encourage exploration under its “Forever Adventure” theme. Unlike earlier concepts such as the XFC and DST, which were close to production when revealed, the Elevance Concept is a true concept vehicle. It stands as a creative showcase for ideas in design and engineering that push beyond current limits and may influence future production models.

Oil prices are set to rise next week, driven by stronger global demand, seasonal maintenance at downstream facilities, and the recent conclusion of the United States (US) government shutdown.

Based on the four-day Mean of Platts Singapore (MOPS) average, gasoline prices are projected to increase by around ₱1.3 per liter, while diesel could rise by ₱1 to ₱1.2 per liter. Kerosene prices are also expected to climb by approximately ₱1 per liter. Oil companies typically finalize and announce price adjustments on Monday.

The Carnival probably isn’t top-of-mind (yet) when your mind is shuffling through luxury minivan choices. But this latest iteration deserves a long, hard look, especially with its hybrid powertrain and eye-popping price.

Speaking of looks, its SUV-ish shape could be why buyers mistake it for something else. Unlike slimmer minivans with more expressive exteriors (with dashing body lines and curves), the latest Carnival is boxy and has a smaller grille. It relies on silver accents and a chrome fin on the C-pillar to create a more business-like appearance.

Suzuki wants to extend the reign of the Underbone King with a set of much-awaited upgrades to increase its performance, practicality, and desirability. Pushing back against the encroachment of automatic motorcycles, the new Raider R150 is still proudly a manual, but now sports a slipper clutch system, and comes in two new variants for distinguishing riders to choose from: the Raider R150 Blade Edition and Raider PRO.

Easily the most awaited upgrade to the Raider R150 is the new Suzuki Clutch Assist System (SCAS) for the six-speed manual transmission. Typically offered in big bikes, this slipper clutch offers smoother shifting whether on the street or track. It uses a two-part design to improve both control and comfort. The slipper clutch partially disengages the clutch during hard downshifts, reducing engine braking for smoother, more stable deceleration. Its assist function increases the clutch’s clamping force upon acceleration. Lighter springs result in a significantly lighter clutch lever pull, drastically reducing left hand fatigue in traffic or on long rides.
