August 2025 Guidance Counselors Computer-Based Licensure Examination Results Released Immediately After The Examination

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announces that 496 out of 744 passed the Guidance Counselors Computer-Based Licensure Examination given by the Board of Guidance and Counseling in N. C. R., Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Lucena and Rosales this August 2025.

The members of the Board of Guidance and Counseling who gave the licensure examination are Dr. Luzviminda S. Guzman, Chairperson; Dr. Elena V. Morada and Dr. Carmelita P. Pabiton, Members.

The results were released immediately after the last day of examination.

Starting September 29, 2025, registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will be done on-line. Please go to www.prc.gov.ph and follow instructions for initial registration. Those who will register are required to bring the following: downloaded duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal, notice of admission (for identification only), 2 pieces passport sized pictures (colored with white background and complete name tag), 2 sets of documentary stamps and 1 piece short brown envelope. Successful examinees should personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.

The date and venue of the oathtaking ceremony of the new successful examinees in the said examination WILL BE ANNOUNCED LATER.

CONFIDENTIALITY IN COUNSELING: WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

As your school counselors, we value your trust. Everything shared during counseling sessions is kept strictly confidential. This means that teachers cannot ask for transcripts or detailed notes of what you discussed.

However, there are important exceptions to confidentiality, including:
✅ If there is a risk of harm to yourself or others
✅ If there is suspected abuse or neglect
✅ If a court requires the information

Outside of these situations, what you share stays between you and your counselor. 💙

📣 GUIDANCE COUNSELOR, not COUNCILOR! ✨

I’ve seen it more than a few times — and I totally understand, the words sound alike… BUT they are not the same! 😅

A Guidance COUNSELOR is the trained professional who helps individuals with personal concerns, academic goals, career choices, and life challenges.

A COUNCILOR is a public official who is part of a government or organizational council — they help make laws, policies, or decisions for a community or institution.

👉 So, next time you tag or mention your friendly neighborhood school counselor, please remember: it’s Guidance Counselor — with an S, not a C! 💚

Let’s spell it right and give school counselors the proper recognition they deserve! 🙌
