The Sultan Kudarat State University (SKSU) Isulan Campus successfully held its interview screening process for incoming first-year college applicants for the Academic Year 2025-2026, from June 11 to June 20, 2025, as part of its admission procedure— attracting hundreds of hopeful students from various provinces.

This process aimed to assess the character and communication skills of every applicant which helped ensure that their academic capabilities and values are aligned with their chosen programs.

Faculty members from each college facilitated interviews with applicants, posing questions about the students’ personal history, academic background, program goals, and others. As they underwent this procedure, most students exhibited both enthusiasm and anxiety.

With this thorough selection procedure, SKSU strives to maintain its standard of excellence and continue to foster competent and committed generators of solutions.

‎June 24, 2025, marks the date when candidates for graduation from the three colleges of Sultan Kudarat State University—Isulan campus namely, the College of Engineering, College of Industrial Technology, and College of Computer Studies—gathered for the commemoration of their college journey. This event was held at the Sultan Kudarat Sports Complex and Cultural Center.

‎The conferment was preceded with a Baccalaureate Service with Pastor Jabe Barker as the speaker. In his sermon, Pastor Barker delivered a resonant statement, “To find your ultimate joy and greatest delight is to know Him [God] personally.”

‎
‎After the Baccalaureate Service concluded, the Pre-Commencement Exercises kicked-off with Engr. Rommel M. Lagumen, SKSU—Isulan Campus director, opened the secondary part of the event. “A recognition of journey,” as he describes the experience upon attending the event which recognizes the fruit of labor meant for both the students and their parents as well.

‎Following the conferment of the students, SKSU President, Dr. Samson L. Molao, also delivered his message for the students and their parents, after which the guest speaker was introduced, a proud alumnus of the institution, Engr. Mark Allen L. Losario.
‎
‎In his speech, Engr. Losario anchored his message with emphasis on the Hiligaynon word ‘Pagdayaw’ which translates to praise. “𝘗𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘴𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘢 𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘴𝘦𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘨𝘦𝘵𝘴 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘮𝘦𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘧𝘶𝘭 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦 𝘨𝘦𝘵𝘴 𝘵𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩,” he said as he brought challenge to the obstacles that were overcome by the students emphasizing the extra-hustle they endured through online class during the pandemic.

‎The SKSU—Isulan 2025 batch message was delivered by, Amerogin O. Kamid, a BSCS student graduating as Magna Cum Laude, shared some nugget of wisdom, “𝘗𝘳𝘰𝘨𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘪𝘴 𝘣𝘰𝘳𝘯 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘪𝘯 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘧𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯, 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘪𝘯 𝘮𝘰𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯.” Kamid also spoke about his fair share of struggles as a normal student striving at his best.

‎The conferred students of the Baccalaureate Service and Pre-Commencement Exercises (Adlaw sang Pagdayaw 2025) will proceed for their Commencement Ceremony on June 28, 2025, where the conclusion of their journey as undergraduates of SKSU awaits.

The College of Engineering of Sultan Kudarat State University – Isulan Campus held its highly anticipated 2025 Pinning and Hard Hatting Ceremony at the Sultan Kudarat Sports Complex on June 16, 2025, under the theme “Forged in Knowledge, Strengthened by Innovation: Building the Future, One Vision at a Time. ”

The event showcased a proud display of academic achievement, as engineering students from three degree programs—Bachelor of Science in Electronics and Communications Engineering (BSECE), Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE), and Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering (BSCpE)—marched in procession alongside their parents and mentors. Faculty members followed in a show of unity and support.

The program formally opened with welcome remarks from Engr. Charity L. Oria, Chairperson of the BSCpE program. This was followed by a motivational address from Engr. Lenmar T. Catajay, Dean of the College of Engineering, who urged students to “show the world what SKSU engineers are made of.”

A key highlight of the ceremony was the official presentation and pinning of student interns qualified for On-the-Job Training (OJT). Engr. Alexes N. Gallo, Chairperson of the BSECE program, led the recognition of 19 Electronics and Communications Engineering students. He was followed by Engr. Kim Tyrone Cardenas, BSCE Program Chairperson, who presented 71 Civil Engineering students, all of whom received their pins, vests, and symbolic hard hats. Engr. Oria concluded the segment by presenting 66 Computer Engineering students, each proudly receiving their OJT pins.

To guide the students as they prepare for field deployment, Engr. Percila M. Panagdato, OJT Coordinator, conducted an orientation on SKSU’s internship guidelines. The OJT Pledge, led by Engr. Catajay, affirmed the students’ commitment to professionalism, discipline, and learning.

The event concluded with a message of appreciation from Engr. Gallo, thanking the faculty, students, and families for their unwavering support and contribution to the success of the ceremony.

As the students prepare to complete their 240-hour internships with various partner agencies, the event marked not just a rite of passage but a launchpad into the professional world. With knowledge as their foundation and innovation as their compass, SKSU’s aspiring engineers stand ready to help shape the future—one beam, one vision, and one breakthrough at a time.

The College of Industrial Technology's Bachelor of Technical Vocational Teacher Education program held its pinning and candle-lighting ceremony to send off its third-year students for their On-the-Job Training on Monday, June 16, 2025, at SKSU-Isulan Campus.

The event, themed "Anchored in knowledge, set sail for service" officially marked the students' transition through the symbolic pinning and candle-lighting rites. The activity received overwhelming support with the presence of the Dean of the College of Industrial Technology, Sir Charlie Maghanoy; BTVTEd Program Chairperson, Ma'am Irene Binag; The Technopipeline Adviser, Ma'am Realyn Pahunar; proud parents; and the honorable guest speaker, Ma'am Arlene Buenaflor.

According to Sir Maghanoy, this month-long training will shape the level and quality of their professionality in their chosen career. He also sought for support from the parents, stating that at the end of the day, this is also for the sake of their family.

In a key moment of the program, guest speaker Ma'am Arlene Buenaflor shared her experiences as a student and an alumna of the university. She expressed hope that her story could inspire the BTVTEd students, who are now stepping into the role of trainees.

“Today, you are being sent-off, not away but forward. Remember that the pin on your chest in not just a mark of your identity, it is a badge of responsibility, honor, and service. The candle you light today is not just a flame, it is a symbol of hope, wisdom and guidance,” she stated.
The program, prepared by the BTVTEd students, included performances to lighten the atmosphere and a flower-giving segment dedicated to their parents as a sign of gratitude.

“I hope that you take this crucial time of your learning seriously and gather a meaningful experiences and learnings that will expand your skills,” said Sir Lemuel Bravante, faculty member of the College of Industrial Technology, during his closing remarks. He also commended the efforts of the students who made the event meaningful and expressed gratitude to the parents for their support.

On June 7, 2025, Sultan Kudarat State University – Isulan campus held the National Service Training Program (NSTP) – Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS) themed, “Empowered Youth: Strengthened Nation: Honoring Service & Leadership Beyond the Campus.”
In his message, Mr. Lemuel P. Bravante, MAT, “You chose a path of service, you chose to give your time, energy and creativity to the welfare of others.” which he reminded the completers that these services are much needed in today’s world.

He also brought out the rising cases of HIV in the country, especially within the region, urging everyone to fight the stigma and to not be afraid of getting tested.
Furthermore, he reminded that the experiences today are the results of the actions of the past calling to make responsible decisions for the next generation.

NSTP Implementer, Sarip Pangsayan, said in his closing remarks reminded that the NSTP isn’t just a subject, it serves to foster students to become responsible leaders bringing about public service and awareness without expecting anything in return. He also stated that the youth as the ability to bring change.
The event has seen 254 completers from the College of Engineering, 264 from the College of Industrial Technology and 495 from the College of Computer Studies, for a total of 1,013 NSTP-CWTS graduates.

The Sultan Kudarat State University (SKSU) Isulan Campus has officially achieved 100% Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC) from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), marking a significant milestone in the institution’s commitment to quality education.

All academic programs offered at the Isulan Campus have passed CHED’s rigorous standards. This includes programs under the College of Engineering, College of Computer Studies, and College of Industrial Technology. With full compliance, students from these colleges are now eligible to take their respective Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) licensure examinations.

On February 28, 2025, CHED granted COPC for the Bachelor of Industrial Technology major in Food Innovation and Culinary Technology, certifying that SKSU-Isulan Campus complies with the prescribed minimum requirements of CHED to offer the program effective Academic Year 2025–2026.

This achievement was realized under the leadership of University President Dr. Samson L. Molao, EdD, and reflects the university’s efforts in meeting national academic requirements for higher education institutions.

In addition, the university’s Bachelor of Industrial Technology (BIT) program has been granted Level IV Reaccredited Status by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP). This is one of the highest distinctions awarded to academic programs in the country.

The BIT program, which offers six areas of specialization, was recognized for its strong performance in curriculum development, faculty qualifications, research initiatives, and global relevance.

These achievements highlight SKSU-Isulan Campus’s continued progress in delivering quality education and in preparing its students to become competent professionals in their respective fields.
