𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱?

Leadership requires integrity, accountability, compassion, and vision. Being able to lead may be inherited but it requires further training and development. It does not magically happen overnight nor just something which can be learned in a day. Now, to hone their leadership abilities and strengthen their commitment to serve the studentry, student leaders of Ivisan National High School (INHS) gathered during the first day of their leadership training in preparation for coming school year with the theme, “SSLG LEADER: Ideal and Excellent” last June 7.

All ready to take on the challenge of discovering what it truly means to be a leader, student leaders from Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG), Barkada Kontra Droga (BKD), Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O) and Student Training and Equipping for Emergency Response Organization (STEER) congregated at the INHS faculty room to listen and discuss their shared goals.

A warm opening remark from Mr. Linuel Guillermo, SSLG adviser, commenced the program. This was followed by a message from Ms. Andrea Nicole Gallardo, the incoming president of SSLG. She shared her expectations with her fellow student leaders, emphasizing that leadership is not about perfection; rather, it’s about how leaders face challenges, grow and learn from them.

The resource speakers of the event were Mr. Aldren B. Fuentes, Mr. Are A. Silva, and Mr. Mark Paul Avecedo, who focused their lectures on the essential steps, issues, and skills necessary for the growth and development of the student leaders.

The program concluded with the awarding of certificates to the resource speakers with Dr. Rolando B. Ricardo Jr., the school’s Principal IV. Moreover, it was announced that the second day of the leadership training will take place on June 13.

Pride Month is celebrated annually every month of June to honor the strength, resilience, and the vibrant diversity of the LGBTQIA+ community.

𝗗𝗶𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄? The observance began in 1999 when U.S. President Bill Clinton first declared June as “Gay and Le***an Pride Month”. A decade later, in 2009, President Barack Obama expanded the commemoration to “Le***an, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Pride Month”, recognizing the full spectrum of identities within the community.

Pride month is not just a celebration—it’s a declaration. It’s about supporting human rights, amplifying voices and recognizing the pivotal contributions of LGBTQIA+ individuals in every nook of society. No matter your identity, race, and color—you have a place in this world. Raise your flags high, stand tall, love proudly!

World Environment Day is a crucial event commemorated annually every 5th of June to raise awareness and inspire action for the protection of the environment. Established by the United Nations in 1972, it has grown into the largest global platform for environmental outreach, celebrated by millions of people over 150 countries around the globe.

This day serves as a reminder that we all share the same responsibility when it comes to the environment. Environmental problems such as climate change, pollution, deforestation, and waste management threatens not only nature but also human lives and the future generations.

Let us all work hand in hand for a greener and cleaner future, this way we can protect our “only home”—our planet.

𝗜𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗻 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗮 𝗥𝗲-𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗘𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗙𝗮𝗶𝗿 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗜𝗻𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 (𝗦𝗛𝗦).

The school’s gymnasium was filled with the presence of incoming grade 11 Senior High students and teachers who aimed to guide and educate students about the revised SHS Curriculum on June 4, 2025 for the academic year 2025-2026.

Each student was given the track preference form, enabling them to freely choose their desired track and their preferred cluster under the chosen track.

One of the key features of the revised SHS curriculum is the reduction of tracks from 4 to 2 tracks: Academic Track and Technical Professional Track (TECH PRO). Moreover, the number of required subjects has significantly reduced through the streamlining of academic electives, core subjects and TECH PRO electives.

Dr. Rolando Ricardo Jr., the school’s Principal IV, also emphasized how important it is for students to consider the tracks that they want to pursue, as it can benefit students by helping them develop and discover their strengths.

Needless to say, this change is a crucial step for students toward achieving a higher quality of education and aligning their interests and skills to their chosen career paths.

Jian Chris Tedel S. Aguila, former Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG) President, was among the distinguished awardees of the 13th Batang Capiznon Awards: Search for the Ten Outstanding Students of Capiz (TOSOC) 2025 – Secondary Category. The recognition was formally bestowed during the Joint Awarding Ceremony held at Robinsons Roxas on April 27, 2025.

The TOSOC Award, organized by the Borres Youth Leadership Institute, Inc., aims to honor exemplary students from various schools across Capiz who demonstrate outstanding leadership, academic excellence, and strong moral values.

In addition to honoring the TOSOC awardees, the Joint Awarding Ceremony also paid tribute to accomplished women from diverse fields who have made significant contributions to their communities and professions, celebrating their achievements and their role in driving progress and empowerment in Capiz.

Aguila’s recognition not only highlights her commitment to service and leadership but also serves as an inspiration to fellow youth, encouraging them to actively participate in creating positive change in their schools and communities.

𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗴𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱: 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲

Ivisan National High School's covered gym echoed with pride and celebration as the much-anticipated Recognition Day 2025 was held on April 11, 2025, paying tribute to the hard work and achievements of its outstanding students.

With the theme “𝘏𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘴𝘺𝘰𝘯 𝘯𝘨 𝘗𝘢𝘨𝘬𝘢𝘬𝘢𝘪𝘴𝘢; 𝘒𝘢𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘱𝘢𝘺 𝘴𝘢 𝘉𝘢𝘨𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘗𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘴 (Generation of Unity; Partners for the New Philippines),” the event honored students who have demonstrated outstanding academic performance, leadership, and dedication throughout the school year.

The program opened with a warm welcome from the school principal, Dr. Rolando B. Ricardo Jr., who commended both students and parents for their perseverance.

Adding inspiration to the event, guest speaker Mrs. Farah A. Calmita, a former alumna and now a Client Service Associate Level 5, encouraged students to “have determination, perseverance, and hardwork" in order to achieve their goals in life. Her message of hope and persistence resonated with the entire audience.

The highlight of the event was the awarding of honors to top-performing students from each grade level. Special awards were also given for leadership, service, and extracurricular achievements. Grade 11 student, Liane Apuac, shared an emotional speech, thanking her teachers, friends, and family. “Today proves that hard work pays off and it also reminds us that we’re just getting started. Let’s carry this momentum forward, not just for ourselves, but also for the people who believe in us,” she said.

The celebration concluded with a closing remarks delivered by Mr. Minard B. Abarra, Assistant Principal II, followed with the recessional. Proud parents captured the moment with photos and smiles, marking the end of another meaningful academic year.

Today, marks the "𝘈𝘳𝘢𝘸 𝘯𝘨 𝘒𝘢𝘨𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘢𝘯", honoring the bravery of Filipino and American soldiers who fought in the Battle of Bataan during World War II.

In 1942, more than 76,000 Filipino and American troops surrendered to the Japanese troops after the Fall of Bataan which had led to the infamous Bataan Death March.

Ivisan National High School held a culminating activity to celebrate Women’s Month at the INHS covered gym on March 31. The event aimed to promote awareness, advocate for gender equality, empower young women, and celebrate women’s achievements.

This year’s celebration of National Women’s Month, with the theme "𝘉𝘢𝘣𝘢𝘦 𝘴𝘢 𝘓𝘢𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘯𝘨 𝘚𝘦𝘬𝘵𝘰𝘳, 𝘈𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘢𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘉𝘶𝘬𝘢𝘴 𝘴𝘢 𝘉𝘢𝘨𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘗𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘴," highlights the remarkable achievements of women across various sectors—including economic, social, cultural, educational, and political advancements.

The event commenced with a dynamic Zumba performance led by the Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O), followed by a lecture that focused on the rights of women and children, as well as their crucial contributions to society.

PMAJ Ruby C. Magallanes, COP Ivisan Municipal Police Station, graced the event and emphasized the importance of women's rights, stressing that both women and men play equal roles in driving societal progress and fostering a stronger, more inclusive community.

𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝟴: 𝗙𝗼𝗹𝗸𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗖𝘂𝗹𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆

A mix of colorful and indigenous dances filled the Ivisan National High School's covered gym as Grade 8 students gracefully swayed their way through their Folk Dance Performance Culminating Activity in MAPEH on March 25, 2025. They performed various Philippine folk dances, including Binislakan, Sua-ku-Sua, and Sakuting.

The culminating activity was held to preserve and celebrate the rich culture and traditions of the Philippines. The diversity and uniqueness of the movements and costumes instilled a sense of pride among Filipinos. In honor of our heritage, the Grade 8 students performed with excellence and respect, going beyond merely fulfilling a performance task.
