Matthew Diaz is a promising young Filipino weightlifter who gained national attention by winning a gold medal in the Secondary Boys 48kg category at the 2025 Palarong Pambansa, a significant multi-sport event. Matthew trains under the HD Weightlifting Academy, established by his aunt Hidilyn and her husband, Julius Naranjo, in Jala-Jala, Rizal. The academy aims to develop young talents in the sport, with Matthew being one of its standout athletes
