NEWS II Linggisan Publication secures Third RSPC Participation, Hamid bags Gold
Six (6) members of Linggisan, the official school publication of Jati Elementary School , Jolo III District took part in the 2025 Regional Schools Press Conference (RSPC) held on April 20-24 at Marawi City with the theme: "Empowering Bangsamoro Youth through Media: Championing Peacebuilding and Progress."
The five-day RSPC was participated by the young campus journalists throughout the 11 Schools Division in Bangsamoro region both elementary and secondary level. The above-mentioned Linggisan Publication writers were among the representatives of the Sulu Division.
Interestingly, Darweena Hamid , the pride of Jati Elementary School became triumphant as she took home the gold medal in Feature Writing Filipino. She is set to represent BARMM in the 2025 National Schools Press Conference (NSPC) to be held in Ilocos Sur sometime in May.
In addition, Najiah Rasul , bagged silver medal ranking third in Photojournalism Filipino. Rasul was also a regional winner in the same category ranking fifth in RSPC 2024 in Lamitan City. On the other hand, Mischa H. Alora, secured the fifth spot in Column Writing English making her a bronze medalist.
Other RSPC qualifiers were Al-Husaif A. Haayudini for Editorial Cartooning English, Al-Zakir H. Concubierta and Fhadzramae D. Hamsirani for Copyreading and Headline Writing English and Filipino respectively.
They were accompanied by the four School Paper Advisers and championmakers namely: Mr. Jul-Amin M. Hadil, three times RSPC and two times NSPC Coach, Hja. Erum Hajan Pulaw , MAED, Mrs. Goelgelina J. Arakani, MAED and Mrs. Fireezia-Imada P. Tacata, MAED, both two times RSPC Coaches respectively and the supportive parents of the contestants.
Moreover, from last year's 6 over 9 to this year 3 over 6, Jati ES is the only school with gold medalists and NSPC qualifiers for two consecutive years with last year's win of Adawiya A. Jumahali in Editorial Writing Filipino in Lamitan City.
