Scam Ready Mover Carl Myson Dulla conducted an online discussion on the Be Scam Ready Game with the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) of Guinsiliban, Mswdo Guinsiliban Camiguin on August 21, 2026. The staff showed strong interest in the game and its potential to help communities become more informed and vigilant against scams.

The discussion highlighted a growing concern: many community members, particularly older persons, have experienced scams that caused financial and emotional harm. Scams are no longer limited to digital spaces. They can also happen through face-to-face transactions, offices, and even in the delivery of social services.

Raising awareness is therefore a shared responsibility. By equipping frontline workers and communities with the knowledge to pause, verify, and protect, we can help prevent more people from becoming victims and build communities that are more resilient against scams. On August 15, 19 student leaders and 2 advisers from Nueva Valencia National High School (NVNHS) Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG) were introduced to the Be Scam Ready Game, an interactive campaign that equips young people with practical knowledge to recognize, avoid, and respond to scams.

Scams can affect everyone, especially in today’s fast-paced digital era. While students are more adept at using technology and digital platforms, this also exposes them to risks such as phishing, online fraud, and other digital scams.

Student leaders play a crucial role in advancing the fight against scams. As peer influencers, they can share what they learned with fellow students, families, and communities, helping promote safer and more responsible digital practices.

Be Scam Ready is more than a game. It empowers young people to learn, think, verify, and act, becoming informed digital citizens and advocates for safer communities.
