The City Government of Kabankalan formally conducted the ceremonial signing of its โ‚ฑ2.4 billion Annual General Fund Budget for Calendar Year 2026 on December 26, 2025, at the Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) Session Hall.

The approved annual budget serves as the cityโ€™s primary financial framework for 2026, providing for the strategic allocation of funds to essential programs, public services, and priority projects aimed at sustaining growth and advancing the overall development of Kabankalan.

During the ceremony, Mayor Benjie Miranda expressed his appreciation to the City Council led by Vice Mayor Divina Gracia Miranda for its strong support and collaborative efforts in the timely approval of the annual budget.

He likewise extended special recognition to City Administrator Atty. Mac Lord Zafra and Joemil Porol, CPA, City Budget Officer, for their significant contributions to the budget planning and implementation process.

The City Government of Kabankalan conducted a Serbisyo Caravan today, December 23, 2025, at KCenter. The activity was held for members of the BPOC, BADAC, and Barangay Tanods from 32 barangays.

DILG Ma. Fatima Daiz, CLGOO, inspired the participants with her message.

The Serbisyo Caravan offered various services, including medical consultations, free medicines, and dental services provided by the City Health Office and Kabankalan City Hospital. The 94th Infantry Battalion also extended free haircut services, and the DSWD was also present to provide support.

As part of the program, gift packs were distributed to 419 beneficiaries, consisting of members of the BPOC, BADAC, and Barangay Tanods.

The City Government of Kabankalan, led by Mayor Benjie Miranda and Vice Mayor Divina Miranda through CSWD Program: Assistance to Individual In Crisis Situations (AICS) distributed โ‚ฑ2,025,987 to 247 beneficiaries today, December 23, 2025 at the City Hall Lobby.

Assistance Breakdown:
๐Ÿ’Š Medical Aid: โ‚ฑ1,530,987 | 196 beneficiaries
โšฐ๏ธ Burial Aid: โ‚ฑ495,000 | 51 beneficiaries

Mayor Benjie Miranda and Vice Mayor Divina Gracia Miranda inspired the audience as they expressed heartfelt gratitude for the trust and support. They emphasized that their administration remains committed to prioritizing the welfare of every Kabankalanon and ensuring that aid reaches those who need it most

Mayor Benjie Miranda attended the 63rd Foundation Day and 11th Panabog Festival 2025 of Barangay Tabugon, held on December 22, 2025, at the Tabugon Sports and Events Center.

The celebration carried the theme โ€œSabay! Sa Pag-asenso sang aton Barangay!โ€ and was led by Punong Barangay Ramil G. Sepida, highlighting unity, cultural pride, and progress within the community.

During the event, Mayor Miranda awarded additional cash prizes, giving โ‚ฑ5,000 to each participating tribe as a gesture of encouragement and continued support for cultural preservation and active community participation.

The winning teams of the 2nd Mayor Benjie M. Miranda Inter-Barangay Basketball Tournament were formally recognized during the regular flag ceremony held on December 22, 2025, in front of Kabankalan City Hall.

After the ceremony, the teams were invited to the Mayorโ€™s Office, where they received additional cash incentives from Mayor Miranda.

Mayor Benjie M. Miranda personally handed over the additional cash incentives as a gesture of appreciation for the teamsโ€™ commitment, sportsmanship, and active participation in the tournament.

โ€ข Barangay Binicuil emerged as the Champion, receiving a total of โ‚ฑ100,000, composed of โ‚ฑ50,000 as the tournament prize and an additional โ‚ฑ50,000 from Mayor Miranda.

โ€ข Barangay Camingawan secured 1st Runner-Up, earning โ‚ฑ70,000, which included a โ‚ฑ40,000 tournament prize and โ‚ฑ30,000 additional cash from the Mayor Miranda

โ€ข Barangay Orong finished as 2nd Runner-Up, receiving a total of โ‚ฑ50,000, consisting of a โ‚ฑ30,000 tournament prize and โ‚ฑ20,000 additional cash from Mayor Miranda.

โ€ข Meanwhile, Barangay 1 placed 3rd Runner-Up, receiving โ‚ฑ30,000, composed of a โ‚ฑ20,000 tournament prize and โ‚ฑ10,000 additional cash from the Mayor.

โ€ข In addition, four teamsโ€”Barangay Talubangi, Barangay Hilamonan, Barangay Carol-an, and Barangay Salongโ€”each received โ‚ฑ10,000 in consolation prizes, all personally provided by Mayor Miranda.

The official tournament cash prizes had already been awarded during the tournamentโ€™s awarding ceremony held on December 21, 2025, at the Kabankalan Public Plaza. The recognition at City Hall served as a formal acknowledgment of the teamsโ€™ achievements and an opportunity for the Mayor to personally commend their efforts.
