The City Government of Kabankalan, through the City Agriculture Office, is now accepting applications for Tractor Services under the Farm Mechanization Assistance Program.

This initiative aims to support our local farmers by providing accessible and affordable farm mechanization services to boost productivity and efficiency.

The City Government of Kabankalan, under the leadership of Mayor Benjie Miranda and Vice Mayor Divina Gracia Miranda, through the City Sports and Development Office, continues to support local athletes by providing sports incentives and equipment including 10 pairs of spiked shoes to Kabankalanon athletes who proudly represented the city in the Provincial Meet, Regional Meet, and Palarong Pambansa.

An initial turnover ceremony was held at Magballo Elementary School last August 14, 2025 where the Kabankalan City Athletics Team from Barangay Magballo received their sports supplies.

City Sports Consultant Augustine Rivas congratulated the athletes during the event, encouraging them to keep striving for excellence and reaffirming the city government’s unwavering support.

This initiative is part of Mayor Miranda’s 12-Point Agenda and highlights Kabankalan’s commitment to sports development under the rallying call: “Basta Sports, Support!”

The City Government of Kabankalan, led by Mayor Benjie Miranda and Vice Mayor Divina Gracia Miranda, welcome the Government Internship Program (GIP) interns as they begin their training with offices of the city government.

The Public Employment Service Office (PESO) of Kabankalan, under the leadership of PESO Manager Elma B. Bachita, PhD, officially endorsed and sent off five interns to various offices of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Kabankalan City today, August 18, 2025.

The interns have been assigned to the following departments:

City Human Resource Management Office
City Treasurer’s Office
City Civil Registrar’s Office
City Agriculture Office
City Assessor’s Office

According to Dr. Bachita, PESO manager,the GIP a program of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) aims to provide young graduates with meaningful work experience, enhance their skills, and prepare them for future employment while supporting government services.

𝐒𝐋𝐏𝐀 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐲 𝟔 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐏𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐅𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦

The Sustainable Livelihood Program Association (SLPA) of Barangay 6, through its Meat and Lechon Shop SLP Kabankalan, has been tapped as the supplier for the Supplementary Feeding Program (SFP) under the Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) for School Year 2025–2026.

The program, which aims to provide nutritious meals to children, covers a total of 5,782 learners with an allocated budget of ₱17,346,000.00 from the National Government for the entire year.

On August 15, 2025, the association made its initial delivery of 201 kilos of fresh pork to four Child Development Centers in the city, officially starting their engagement in the feeding program.

The City Government of Kabankalan,led by Mayor Benjie Miranda lauded the initiative the importance of empowering local associations to contribute to community development, together with Regional Director Arwin Razo and the DSWD Negros Island Region, expressed their support and trust in the group of fathers behind the SLPA, who are venturing into livelihood and entrepreneurship to provide for their families while serving the community.

The City of Kabankalan is set to inaugurate the first-ever Tourist Rest Area (TRA) in Western Visayas on August 28, 2025, marking a major milestone in the region’s tourism development. Honorable Department of Tourism (DOT) Secretary Cristina Garcia Frasco is expected to grace the event as the guest of honor.

A site inspection was conducted today to ensure that construction is on track and that the facility meets quality standards ahead of its inauguration. Among those who led the inspection were City Councilor Jerzy Guanzon, Chairperson of the Committee on Tourism; former Tourism Designate Engr. Randy Siason, EnP; Engr. Roland Marquez of the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA); and Engr. Therese Francisco, Project Engineer of ZMA I Construction and Supply.

Strategically located at Sto. Overflow, Barangay Hilamonan, the Kabankalan TRA is designed to offer safe, clean, and comfortable amenities for both domestic and international travelers.
