𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐆𝐥𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞: 𝐏𝐄 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐂𝐮𝐥𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐭 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞

On March 21, Southland College’s Junior High School joined and came alive with vibrant energy and cultural celebration during the annual PE Day culmination, aptly themed "Dances of the World." Students across grades showcased their talents through lively performances representing diverse cultures.

Grade 7 opened the festivities with the spirited Dance of Puerto Rico, captivating the audience with its rhythmic beats and moves. Next, Grade 8 took the stage with the lively Jive Dance of Brazil, igniting the crowd with their infectious enthusiasm and dynamic movements.

Grade 9 brought a taste of Americana to the event with the Cowboys/Girls Dance of the USA, highlighting traditional folk elements that resonated with community spirit. Finally, Grade 10 dazzled everyone with the contemporary KPOP Dance of Korea, showcasing the global influence of modern pop culture.

This event not only celebrated the richness of global traditions but also fostered unity and camaraderie among students, reminding everyone of the power of dance to connect cultures. Kudos to all participants for their hard work and dedication in making this event a memorable celebration of diversity!

Join us in looking forward to next year’s PE Day, where we will continue to embrace and honor the beautiful tapestry of our world’s cultures!

𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐒: Celebrating the Power of Words: Spoken Poetry Competition in Kabankalan City

As a part of National Art's Month, the city tourism office held a spoken poetry competition on February 28, 2025 bringing in talents from public and private schools within the city. It's theme, Awit ng Diwa- Sining at Damdamin, passion and dedication took center stage.

Among Nine competitors, Two Southlanders, Abegail Jansen L. Tana, a Grade you 8 student, and Dean Roi Lobrique, a Grade 10 student. They were led by Teacher Christy May Tianzon. The students were Young, Scrappy and Hungry for the trophy. And Abegail, she proved her hunger for the trophy.

Abegail Jansen L. Tana brought home the Championship Title. She took her shot, and it paid off. Both performances was Epic, and had history's eyes on them. Congratulations to Abegail and Dean Roi's Legendary Performance. This is definitely another step in Southland's Legacy.

𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐒: The Enchanting JHS Promenade Night

An Enchanted Garden they say is full of grace, elegance, and joy which was indeed experienced by the juniors and seniors as they magically transformed to feel and embrace the fun of the night during the JHS Promenade Night of Southland College at Zaycoland Hotel and Resort held during the 14th day of February 2025, themed "Enchanted Graden".

The night was full of dazzling graces and enchanted memories that will forever remain on each of their hearts. The students were able to experience the enchanted vibe and ambience as they walk through the aisle with their honored partners.

The ceremony began with the wave of excitement and joy. In their minds, words were not able to express their feelings. Everywhere they looked, they saw grace and elegance ready to face the night. With the utmost help and dedication of teachers, the night was made possible and was a success.

𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐒: Southland College kicks off Sportsfest 2024 with grand opening ceremony

Southland College’s highly anticipated annual Sportsfest officially launched the morning of February 3 with a lively and enthusiastic opening ceremony. Students from various grade levels proudly represented their teams, showcasing colorful banners and cheers during the vibrant parade. School officials, faculty, and special guests attended, underscoring the importance of healthy competition, teamwork, and sportsmanship. The ceremonial torch lighting marked the official start of the games, setting the tone for the week ahead. Throughout the week, participants will engage in a variety of team-based events, including track, basketball, and volleyball. Students are eager to showcase their skills and determination, making this year’s Sportsfest one to remember.
