First Coordination Meeting for the Lights On Ceremony 2025 Ginsuguran Na.

Una nga coordination meeting upod sa mga business establishments, tourism stakeholders kag partners sa pagpanghanda para sa aton Lights On Ceremony nga mangin isa sa mga highlights sa pagsaulog sang paskwa sa syudad Kabankalan sa December 8, 2025.

Tourism OIC Ms. Geoliza De Luna, TOO II, naghatag sang mainit nga pagabi-abi sa tanan nga partisipante. Si City Administrator Atty. Mac Lord Zafra naman nagpresentar sang mga plano kag aktibidad para sa Lights On event, kag sa ngalan ni City Mayor Benjie Miranda, nagpasalamat sa ila kooperasyon kag suporta sa mga programa sang syudad.

Ms. Rhej Abello sang City Mayor’s Office/Tourism nagbukas sang diskusyon kag nagpresentar sang detalye sang Light a Tree sponsorship kag preparasyon sini. Upod man sa meeting si Executive Assistant to the Mayor, Ms. Ej Joy Superal, nga nagpaabot sang iya bug-os nga suporta sa aktibidad.

KALPROWA Holds Oathtaking Ceremony for New Set of Officers and Members

The Kabankalan City Local Producers and Workers Association (KALPROWA) held its Oathtaking Ceremony for its new set of officers and members with the theme of strengthening collaboration and livelihood initiatives among local producers and workers.

The event was graced by Hon. Mercedes “Cheding” Alvarez, Congresswoman of the 6th District of Negros Occidental, who delivered an inspirational message to the group. Representing City Mayor Hon. Benjie M. Miranda, Executive Assistant to the Mayor Mr. Sudjie Miranda administered the oath of office to the newly elected officers.

The program was formally opened by Leticia T. Maravilla, Administrative Officer V and LEIPO & TLDC Designate, followed by a message from the outgoing president Mrs. Socorro Abanto. The newly elected KALPROWA President, Mrs. Bevleyn Fernan, delivered the acceptance message and closing remarks.

An inspirational talk was also shared by Libay Alarcon, Technology and Livelihood Development Center Head, together with Mr. Victor Ed Alamon, DTI Negosyo Center Senior Business Counselor.

Other distinguished guests who gave their messages were Hon. Roberto C. Tarosan, Barangay Captain of Inapoy; and Ms. Geoliza De Luna, OIC of the City Tourism Office.

The ceremony concluded with fellowship and photo opportunities, celebrating KALPROWA’s continuous commitment to empower local producers and workers through sustainable livelihood and partnership with the City Government of Kabankalan.

Congratulations to the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) headed by Ma’am Cyril Ramos and her dedicated team for bringing home two awards during the DSWD Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) Awarding Ceremony held at Robinsons Place Bacolod on October 16, 2025.

Kabankalan City received the “Salamat Po Award” and the “Gawad Sulong – Best Partner (Local Government Unit Category)” for its strong support and active partnership in implementing the Sustainable Livelihood Program, helping uplift the lives of Kabankalanons.
