LOOK |DSWD, KALAHI-CIDSS Launch Panahon ng Pagkilos: Philippine Community Resilience Project

July 21, 2026 - Before the actual implementation of the Panahon ng Pagkilos: Philippine Community Resilience Project (PCRP), the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), through KALAHI-CIDSS, conducted an orientation in the Municipality of Kalamansig to equip local stakeholders with the knowledge and understanding needed to strengthen community resilience against disasters and other related risks.

The said activity gathered barangay officials, municipal representatives and partner stakeholders to discuss the objectives and implementation process of the project, which seeks to reduce disaster risks by addressing the unique vulnerabilities of every community. Through a participatory approach, the program empowers barangays to take an active role and to claim ownership in identifying hazards and formulating practical, community-driven solutions.

Mayor Ronan Eugene C Garcia highlighted the vital role of the Barangay as the primary partners in the project. He further emphasized that the barangay officials and community members are entrusted with identifying the most pressing hazards and development concerns affecting their respective areas. Their firsthand knowledge and active participation ensure that the proposed interventions are responsive to actual local needs and contribute to long-term resilience.

Through the Panahon sa Pagkilos: Philippine Community Resilience Project, the Local Government Unit of Kalamansig reaffirm its commitment in fostering partnership to the National Agencies in empowering communities and strengthening grassroots participation, ensuring that every barangay becomes an active partner in building a resilient, prepared and sustainable future for the people of Bayang Pinagpala.
