“I spent much of my career making candy. It was a fun business, but what made it meaningful wasn’t the candy, it was the people. We worked hard, laughed a lot, and genuinely enjoyed being together.

"That same spirit has shaped my life at home. I’ve always believed there should be time for family—time to sit around the table, share stories and play games, laugh together, and simply be present. Careers matter, but family comes first.

"I’ve learned that joy doesn’t depend entirely on our circumstances. It comes from where we choose to focus. I try to focus on the blessings—a conversation with someone I love, a chance to help another person, or an ordinary day spent with family.

"To me, that is what the gospel of Jesus Christ is about. It is about gratitude, love, and joy. It is about trusting the Lord and trying to be useful to Him and to the people around us.

2 Kings 4:23

The Shunammite Woman was a faithful and generous woman who showed kindness to the prophet Elisha by preparing a room for him in her home. When her promised son later died, she chose to trust God despite her grief. With unwavering faith, she declared, "It shall be well," and sought the prophet, through whom the Lord miraculously restored her son to life. Her story teaches us to trust the Lord even in life's most difficult moments.

King Josiah chose to follow the Lord with all his heart, even when the world around him had forgotten the Lord’s ways. His example reminds us that it’s never too late to return to God and make righteous choices.
