The Legacy of the People's Pope
The 266th Pope of the Church, Jorge Mario Bergoglio, known as Pope Francis, passed away at the age of 88. A Jesuit and the first Latin American Pope, became a voice for the marginalized, emphasizing mercy, dialogue, and synodality
The pontiff's legacy is characterized by a progressive and inclusive approach to faith, demonstrated through the inclusion of women in Vatican dicasteries, extended compassion to the LGBTQ+ community, and strong support for global solidarity with refugees and indigenous peoples. His passing marks the end of a historic papacy that began on March 13, 2013, and was characterized by his deep compassion, pastoral zeal, and commitment to a “Church that goes forth.”
His entire life was devoted to serving the Lord and His Church. He taught us to faithfully live the values of the Gospel with courage and universal love, particularly for the poorest and most marginalized individuals.
Thank you, Holy Father.
May his legacy of faith and service be cherished and remembered.
MAY YOU REST IN PEACE, POPE FRANCIS
