💼 VA Resume Tips for Direct Client Applications
1. Customize Every Resume
Tailor your resume to the specific client and job description.
Use the same keywords the client used (e.g., “social media management,” “calendar coordination,” “CRM setup”).
Mention tools or platforms they listed (e.g., “Proficient in ClickUp, Canva, and Slack”).
2. Lead with a Strong Profile Summary
Open with 3–4 lines that highlight what you do best and who you help.
Example:
“Tech-savvy Virtual Assistant helping coaches and online entrepreneurs streamline systems, manage client communications, and scale efficiently.”
3. Focus on Results, Not Just Tasks
Replace duties with measurable outcomes.
✅ “Managed 50+ client inquiries weekly with 24-hour turnaround.”
✅ “Increased engagement by 30% through optimized content scheduling.”
4. Highlight Core Skills & Tools
List tools you actually know and use confidently.
(Examples: Canva, Trello, ClickUp, Kajabi, GHL, Slack, Notion, Asana, Google Workspace, Meta Business Suite)
Include soft skills: communication, time management, attention to detail.
5. Keep It Short and Scannable
One page is ideal; two only if you have strong, relevant experience.
Use clear sections, bullet points, and consistent formatting.
6. Add a “Client Testimonials” or “Feedback” Section
Include 1–2 short client quotes from past work (if available).
“She’s reliable, proactive, and keeps projects moving a true asset to my business!”
7. Show Industry Familiarity
If you specialize (e.g., beauty, coaching, e-commerce), mention it!
Clients love VAs who understand their niche.
8. Use an Action-Oriented Tone
Start bullet points with strong verbs: Created, Managed, Coordinated, Designed, Organized, Implemented.
9. Add a “Portfolio or Work Samples” Link
Include a clickable link to your portfolio, Google Drive folder, or personal website.
(Even better if it shows screenshots, social media posts, or dashboards of your work.)
10. Include a Professional Photo (Optional but Trust-Building)
Use a clean, friendly headshot especially for client-facing roles.
Avoid selfies or over-filtered photos.
11. Name Your Resume Professionally
Example:
✅ JeanBangalan_VirtualAssistant_Resume.pdf
❌ VAfinalfinalversion(2).docx
12. End with a Call to Action
Add a short closing line:
“Available for immediate start happy to discuss how I can support your business goals.”
