"We Ensure Safety".
At about 7:30 in the morning of July 29, 2025, Cellphone call received by the EOD Technician of Cotabato PECU from PSMS Rodel C Vitudio of Arakan MPS MPS, requesting EOD assistance. An Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) was found at Sitio Valencia, Purok 1, Brgy. Sto. Niño, Arakan, Cotabato.
Immediately, Explosive Incident Response Team (EIRT) of Cotabato PECU – Kidapawan Base led by PMSg Dennis M Dorado, EOD Technician under the supervision of PCPT JERRY PONS L PANAGUE, Team Leader proceeded at Arakan MPS, Brgy. Poblacion, Arakan, North Cotabato. Upon arrival, EIRT conducted coordination and briefing together with the personnel of Arakan MPS led by PMAJ REYNANTE C PASCUA, COP, Arakan MPS. After the coordination and briefing, EIRT of Cotabato PECU together with the personnel of Arakan MPS proceeded at Sitio Valencia, Purok 1, Brgy. Sto. Niño, Arakan, Cotabato.
Upon arrival at Sitio Valencia, Purok 1, Brgy. Sto. Niño, Arakan, Cotabato, EIRT conducted paneling operation for any possible hazardous explosive materials around the vicinity while the Arakan MPS personnel led by PMAJ PASCUA secured the perimeter. Thereafter, EIRT personnel of this unit conducted assessment and identification of the found unexploded explosive ordnance (UXO). The said UXO was found and described as one (1) 40 mm, projectile, HE (fired). The condition of the said UXO was unsafe to store in the explosive makeshift/storage facility of this office due to its condition. Due to the hazard posed by the said UXO, responding EIRT initiated Render Safe Procedure (RSP) through Blast-In-Place (BIP) utilizing the electric priming system. At about 11:00 o’clock in the morning of same date, the disposal operation ended, and EIRT personnel departed from the area and proceeded at CPECU Office, Poblacion, Kidapawan City.
