Ferdinand Dela Merced: A Journey Across the Philippines on Foot
Meet Ferdinand Dela Merced, a Filipino adventurer with an extraordinary mission — to complete a Philippine Loop on foot, from the northernmost province of Batanes all the way to Jolo, Sulu in the south. This remarkable journey spans thousands of kilometers, crossing islands, mountains, and diverse communities across the archipelago.
Currently, Ferdinand is passing through Koronadal City, South Cotabato in Southern Mindanao, continuing his trek towards his ultimate destination in Jolo. His journey is not just about endurance and exploration — it’s a celebration of Filipino resilience, culture, and unity, showcasing the beauty and diversity of the Philippines one step at a time.
Ferdinand’s walk is also an advocacy for wellness, environmental awareness, and the power of perseverance. By taking on this challenge, he inspires others to embrace adventure, stay active, and appreciate the richness of our country.
