JUST IN: 7 patay sa Davao Region matapos ang magnitude 7.5 na lindol

Kinumpirma ng Office of Civil Defense o OCD Davao Region na pito katao ang nasawi matapos ang magnitude 7.5 na lindol na tumama kaninang umaga nitong Biyernes, Oktubre 10, 2025.

Ayon kay OCD-11 Regional Director Ednar Dayanghirang, tatlo sa mga namatay ay mula sa Pantukan, Davao de Oro, tatlo mula sa Mati City, at isa mula sa Davao City.

Sa ulat pa ng OCD, sampung katao ang nasugatan sa isang gold rush site sa Barangay Kingking, Pantukan, Davao de Oro.

Patuloy pa ang beripikasyon ng mga awtoridad sa kabuuang bilang ng mga nasugatan at lawak ng pinsala sa rehiyon.

LOOK: Negosyante, arestado sa buy-bust operation sa Koronadal City

KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato- Arestado ang isang negosyante sa isinagawang drug buy-bust operation ng PNP pasado alas-7:01 ngayong gabi ng Biyernes, Oktubre 10, 2025, sa Block 7, Lot 11, Shark Street, Purok Agan Homes, Barangay Sta. Cruz, Koronadal City.

Kinilala ang suspek na si alyas "Kandidus", 48-anyos, at nagpakilalang CEO ng isang ospital sa Banga.

Nakumpisma mula sa suspek ang isang maliit na heat-sealed plastic sachet na naglalaman ng hinihinalang shabu at P500 marked money.

Nahaharap ang suspek sa kasong paglabag sa R.A 9165 o Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

May lakas na magnitude 6.9 na lindol ang muling yumanig sa bahagi ng Davao Oriental ngayong gabi, Oktubre 10, 2025, ayon sa PHIVOLCS.

Natukoy ang sentro ng pagyanig sa layong 36 kilometro timog-silangan ng Manay, Davao Oriental, na may lalim na 10 kilometro.

LOOK: Tsunami warning, kanselado matapos ang 7.4 magnitude na lindol sa Davao Oriental

Kinansela na ng Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology o PHIVOLCS ang tsunami warning na inilabas matapos ang magnitude 7.4 na lindol na yumanig sa baybayin ng Davao Oriental nitong Biyernes, Oktubre 10, 2025.

Sa pinakahuling abiso ng PHIVOLCS, wala nang banta ng tsunami matapos ang pagsusuri ng sea level changes sa mga baybaying lugar ng Mindanao.

Una nang naglabas ng Tsunami Information No. 1 ang ahensya matapos maramdaman ang malakas na pagyanig dakong alas-9:43 ng umaga, ngunit matapos ang ilang oras ng monitoring, nakitang normal na ang taas ng tubig-dagat.

Pinayuhan pa rin ng PHIVOLCS ang publiko na manatiling alerto sa mga posibleng aftershocks at iwasan muna ang paglapit sa mga sirang istruktura o dalampasigan habang nagpapatuloy ang monitoring.

Nagpasalamat naman ang mga lokal na awtoridad sa kooperasyon ng mga residente na agad na lumikas sa mas mataas na lugar matapos ang paunang abiso.

Radyo Bida Koronadal celebrates foundation with poor IP school children KORONADAL CITY – School children from Indigenous Peoples Community in Barangay Saravia here had their early Christmas gifts in a form of school supplies, medicine and books from DXOM-AM Radyo Bida and its partners. Celebrating its 4th foundation anniversary on December 7, Radyo Bida distributed medicine, vitamins, school supplies and books to pupils of Dungan Lahek Elementary School in Sitio Dungan Lahek, Barangay Saravia, Koronadal City. “We are so thankful that our school was chosen by your company,” Ms. Janette Pran, school head, said. “Our pupils are visibly happy and glad you came over along with your magician who really entertained them.” “This day will be treasured not only by our children but also their parents and people who were served by your program and your station,” Pran said after receiving the book donations. Dr. Virgilio Adalin, city dentist, also conducted dental extraction to 30 tribal residents of Sitio Dungan Lahek. Medical consultation was also conducted to 40 individuals. “It is nice to help because in the community people need helping hand to make their life easy, I am happy I am part of your team that gave happiness to these children and their parents,” Dr. Adalin said. All of them get free medical check-up and received vitamins courtesy of Laforteza Pharmacy. The Pharmacy also gave free toothbrushes with toothpaste to more than 120 school children. The outreach program was successful with the help of Koronadal City Mayor Peter Miguel, City Population Office, students of Notre Dame of Marbel University Master in Public Administration students, Leticia Bulotano Wheeler Foundation, Mt. Zion Travel and Tours and Fr. Rogelio Tabuada, OMI, chief executive officer of Notre Dame Broadcasting Corporation (NDBC). About 200 assorted books were donated by the foundation to the IP students coursed through Radyo Bida. DXOM-AM Radyo Bida, broadcasting with a power of 10,0000 watts, is the sixth radio station of NDBC and its studio is located in GenSan Drive, Barangay Morales, Koronadal City. (Karl Mike Tabingo)
