They weren’t going to war that day.
They were going to help.

After the strong earthquake that shook Abra in October 2022, two young soldiers - PFC Jimmy Viernes and PFC Ariz Bautista volunteered to bring aid to families in the mountains of Malibcong.
Relief goods. Blankets. Food. Comfort. That’s all they wanted to bring.

But before they could reach the people waiting for help, they ambushed.

They didn’t seek glory, only to serve.
And even in their last moments, they showed the world what love for country truly means. Heroism isn’t always loud, sometimes, it’s two young men driving through mountains to help strangers they’ve never met.
