READ: The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has warned appointed barangay officials against endorsing candidates in the May 12 elections, emphasizing the nonpartisan nature of their positions.
"Elective barangay officials can engage in partisan political activities, however, appointive barangay officials, such as secretaries, treasurers, tanods or barangay health workers, are prohibited from participating in partisan political activities using their positions." Comelec
Ingat sa galawan mga kabarangay. Elected lang ang pinapayagan, ang Appointed non-partisan ayun sa kanila.
