It signifies the authority and power that Jesus gives to his followers to overcome evil and protect them from harm as they carry out his work.

It is a powerful statement that we can hold onto, about God's authority and protection. It is available to believers through Jesus Christ, enabling us to confront and overcome spiritual opposition.

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. (NIV)

You can stand on your promise that God has a hope and a future for you and your family! Even when you walk through a difficult season, God promises to be working on your behalf. Remember even when you can’t see it, God is moving!

Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted. (NIV)

It happens. Life gets so tough and in our mind we discredit God. We ask ourselves, "What can the Bible have to say about my situation?" or "How can Jesus even help?" This is not the time to get angry and turn against Jesus. He knows exactly what you are walking through. You are not alone and he has felt your pain. Cry out to Jesus with your heart. Take comfort from these words in the Bible.

These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith--of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire--may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. (NIV)

Authentic, it's a difficult quality to find in our culture. When we do find it, it's like a precious metal. The same is true of faith and when we face hardship our faith becomes more authentic. If we can withstand the testing of our faith then we know our belief is genuine. If you are walking through a difficult time, take comfort and know it will bring glory when Christ reveals your sacrifice.

1. The light of the world:
Providing spiritual guidance and illumination.

2. Source of life: Offering eternal life and hope.

This verse encourages us to:

1. Following Jesus:
Embracing his teachings and example.

2. Walking in light:
Living a life guided by God's truth and love.

3. Hope and salvation:
Finding eternal life and purpose in Christ.
