CNHS Concludes Brigada Eskwela 2026, Honors Volunteers and Strengthens Community Partnership
CANINGUAN, LAMBUNAO, ILOILO — Caninguan National High School (CNHS) formally concluded Brigada Eskwela 2026 with a Closing Ceremony on June 5, 2026, recognizing the collective efforts of volunteers, stakeholders, and community partners in preparing the school for the opening of classes for School Year 2026–2027.
With the theme “Bayanihan sa Paaralan: Nagkakaisa para sa Kaayusan at Kaalaman,” this year’s Brigada Eskwela highlighted volunteerism, collaboration, and shared responsibility among teachers, parents, students, alumni, government agencies, private organizations, and local community members.
In her welcome address, Principal I Dr. Hizzle B. Paguntalan expressed gratitude to all volunteers and stakeholders for their support and generosity.
“Our accomplishments this week are a reflection of the unity and commitment of every individual who willingly gave their time, effort, and resources for the welfare of our learners,” Dr. Paguntalan said. “Through bayanihan, we continue to strengthen our school and our community.”
A key highlight was the presentation of the Brigada Eskwela Accomplishment Report by Dr. Yvonne C. Caro, Chairperson of the Program Implementation Committee. The report detailed classroom cleaning, repainting and repair of facilities, campus beautification, gardening, resource mobilization, and preparation of learning spaces to ensure a safe and conducive environment for students.
An audio-visual presentation showcased day-to-day activities, reflecting the bayanihan spirit of volunteers and stakeholders. The ceremony also featured a keynote address from Atty. Carl Clint L. Lingaya, Sangguniang Bayan Member of Lambunao, who commended CNHS for its strong commitment to educational development.
“The success of Brigada Eskwela reflects the power of collaboration between the school, parents, local officials, and community members,” Lingaya emphasized. “When the community works together, quality education becomes a shared responsibility.”
Messages of support were delivered by representatives from various sectors: Edgar John H. Catolin (non-government sector), Hon. Mary Grace N. Suganob (Parent-Teacher Association), Aira Nichole L. Piz (student body), and Mr. Jhandel Lindayao (teacher volunteers).
Each underscored the importance of active community engagement in sustaining educational progress.
Representing the Local Government Unit, Engr. Lemie Leonida lauded the CNHS community’s dedication and emphasized the role of volunteerism in strengthening public education.
Parent and community volunteers also shared personal experiences, including Mrs. Saban, who expressed appreciation for contributing to a safer environment for children, and Mr. Villanueva, who described Brigada Eskwela as a living example of unity and cooperation.
The program culminated in the recognition and awarding of certificates to donors, volunteers, and partner organizations, acknowledging their invaluable contributions.
Closing remarks was delivered by Mrs. Jenneth V. Colacion, Brigada Eskwela 2026 Coordinator, followed by the community song and a group photo.
As Brigada Eskwela 2026 concluded, CNHS reaffirmed its commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and learner-centered environment. The successful implementation of the program stands as a testament to the enduring power of community partnership and collective action in advancing quality education.
