It was name Concepcion, an adjacent village in the south-eastern tip of Isabela City. Established in 1972, it was then called Concepcion Barangay High School.

Introduction

Concepcion National High School; is one of the three national high schools in Lantawan, situated in the eastern part of the municipality. By virtue of the Presidential

Decree of 1989, the Concepcion Barangay High School was renamed Concepcion National High School. Located in Matarling Barangay, Concepcion National High School is included in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao. It is fifteen kilometers away from Isabela City. Or about thirty minutes drive by jeepney from the town proper. In 2016, Senior High School established. Academic and TVL Track offers which include the General Academic Strand (GAS) and Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM); TVL-Home Economics strand-Dressmaking/Cookery (DM/C); TVL-Industrial Arts strand-Electrical Installational (EIM) & Maintenance; and TVL-ICT strand-Computer System Servicing (CSS). Currently, Concepcion National High School has grown in number. This year’s enrolment (SY: 2021-2022) is 509. The students are coming from the barangays of Matarling, Lower Bañas, Pamucalin, Switchyakal, Upper Bañas, Lantawan Proper, Parian Baunoh, Baungis, and Lumbang. They are under the tutelage of nineteen (19) permanent, one (1) provisional teachers.. Administered by teacher-in-charge MR. ROMEO PEREZ as MR. ALAWI O. Mbhte-Concepcion Nhs Basilan proudly celebrated the 2025 Science and Mathematics Month on September 30, 2025, spearheaded by the SSLG officers together with STEM students. Carrying the theme “SPATIALYZE: Surveying Societies and Sensing Solutions,” the event showcased the brilliance of CNHS learners through contests in Essay Writing, SciPhoto, Sci-Advocacy Video, Poster-Making, and Quiz Bees, proving that science and math continue to inspire solutions for society.

Despite the cancellation of some activities due to rain and power interruptions, the celebration was a remarkable success—thanks to the dedication of SSLG, BKD, YES-O officers, and the guidance of teachers who worked hand in hand to make the event engaging and memorable.
