Due to the heavy rainfall brought by the southwest monsoon, classes at college level in Laoag City are suspended this 12 noon.

Earlier this morning, classes in elementary and high school levels were also suspended as a precautionary measure by the CDRRM. Stay safe and alert for further advisories.

“𝐏𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐝𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐠” 𝐜𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐏𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐛𝐚𝐲 𝐧𝐢 𝐃𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓

The College Guidance and Counseling Office led an orientation program assisted by the Divine Peer Helper Group (DPHG), focusing on the guidance services and support provided by the administration. This event marked the culminating day of the school’s orientation week held on July 29.

The event, titled Panagaddang, brought together various offices and departments for a day of informative sessions with the students. Representatives from the AQA Office, Student Affairs, Registrar, Finance, Guidance, Health services, and Library walked students through key processes and policies.

Afternoon sessions focused on School Code of Conduct and DWCL’s commitment to dignity and protection.

In view of the announcement of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), please be informed that classes at all levels, and work at Divine Word College of Laoag, Inc., are suspended tomorrow, Friday, July 25. This is due to the effects of Typhoon in Ilocos Norte and other areas.

Classes at all levels and work in government offices in affected provinces, including Ilocos Norte, are suspended tomorrow as per Memorandum Circular No. 90 due to continuous heavy rainfall caused by the Southwest Monsoon.

Essential services will remain operational, while non-essential personnel may adopt alternative work arrangements as directed by their respective offices.

The College held the annual Opening Mass on July 22, 2025, during the second day of the Panagpasangbay ni Divinian, grounding the school in reflection, unity, and hope for the year ahead.

Vice President for Administration Rev. Fr. Jhun Joel L. Templa, SVD, led the Eucharistic celebration, guiding students, faculty, and staff in prayer and reflection. In his homily, he emphasized the deeper purpose of learning, stating, “Education is an integral provision of a human person, not only in the mind but also in the heart.”

“Welcome to Divine Word College of Laoag (DWCL), where you are now part of a family that’s more than just a school,” thus stressed the Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA) Gladys Jean Q. Basilio, CPA, during the first day of the Panagpasangbay ni Divinian on July 21, 2025.

The program, named “Panagpasiar,” marked the beginning of growth both for the students and the campus community. The VPAA, speaking on behalf of the DWCL President, encouraged students to explore and keep learning. Key administrators also shared words of encouragement, with each dean presenting their respective school. The event opened with a parade of freshmen and ended with a club hunting activity.
