Recognition Day celebrates the hard work of students with medals and they truly deserve it. But not having a medal doesn’t mean a child is less. Attending classes despite struggles, trying again after failing, showing respect and kindness, these are also victories worth celebrating.

𝙒𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙝𝙤𝙣𝙤𝙧𝙨 𝙤𝙧 𝙣𝙤𝙩, every student 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱, 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱. Each journey is unique, and every effort counts.

𝗗𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀
(From A Teacher’s Perspective)

We, teachers, love you. We might not show it through words but you can feel it on how we act. Palagi man kaming galit, deep inside, we are just concerned about you because as your second parents, we have that pressure inside us to mold you for your own betterment. Alalahanin nyo, nasa school kayo para mag-aral at para mapabuti at hindi maglaro at mapariwara. That’s why we point out your single mistake for you to avoid it next time. You might feel that your efforts are unappreciated pero hindi nyo lang alam kung gaano nyo kami napapasaya sa tuwing nag-eeffort kayo ng sobra sa subjects namin. Nakaka-proud sobra. ‘Yung tipong pinag-uusapan pa namin sa faculty and even in our own family. Please still do your best. Please.

If you guys feel that you can’t take it anymore and about to give up schooling because of too much school works, peer pressure, bullying, financial problems, and underestimation, PLEASE DO NOT GIVE UP. Believe it or not, most of us, your teachers, have experienced them too. But where are we now? Sharing inspiring thoughts, knowledge, and morals to you. What if sumuko kami dati? Teacher nyo pa rin kaya kami ngayon? And if you might think that we are too harsh on you, we are just preparing you for the world because in the real world, walang madali, lahat mahirap. Napakahirap.

If you think that you are dumb or stupid, please don’t. They might be right but show them what you’ve got. Challenge yourself to be the better version of yourself. Study harder. Prove them wrong. Sometimes the criticisms make us improve. Sometimes opinion matters for you to be aware of your wrong doings. Kaya nga Kinder to Grade 12 kasi para mag-improve tayo next grade level. Hindi isang grade lang na kung bumagsak ka sa grade 1 e bagsak ka na sa buhay.

You might be thinking that grades are not the basis of your intelligence. Yes you are right but it is the basis of your future. Competition is tough nowadays. Para lang ‘yang love na attracted ka gawa ng facial value. No one loves a person with his attitude first (Admit it or not, we might love a person because of this after knowing him/her for long time). It is always with the appearance and it’s up to you if you will still in love with that person or not. Kung iko-connect sa workplace, employers and good jobs prefer persons with good academic record than those who do not have. Oo tama na diskarte rin ang basehan para umasenso pero hindi palagi, not unless may sarili kayong family business or strong underground connection. O kung meron man, they do not stay forever. What if naghirap na ang family mo? Paano ka na?

It may sound a cliché but we, teachers, are your second parents. Na pwede mong kasama sa iyakan, tawanan, pagsabihan ng problema, at kung anu-ano pa.
