LOOK: THE GUARDIANS OF LUZON — THE MOUNTAINS THAT STAND BETWEEN US AND THE STORM

Tuwing rumaragasa ang malalakas na bagyo, tatlong higante ang tahimik na humaharang sa galit ng kalikasan — ang Sierra Madre, Caraballo Range, at Cordilleras. Sila ang mga tunay na tagapagtanggol ng Luzon.

🌳 SIERRA MADRE — The Storm Shield
Ang pinakamahabang kabundukan sa bansa. Ito ang unang sumasalubong sa bawat bagyo—binabawasan ang lakas ng hangin at ulan bago pa man maramdaman sa kapatagan.

⛰️ CORDILLERAS — The Tallest Guardian
Matayog at matatag, ito ang gulugod ng Luzon. Ang lakas nito ay sumasalamin sa katatagan ng mga Pilipino sa gitna ng unos.

🌲 CARABALLO RANGE — The Silent Connector
Matatagpuan sa Nueva Vizcaya, ito ang tulay na nag-uugnay sa Sierra Madre at Cordillera—pinagsasama ang kanilang tibay at proteksyon.

Noong nanalasa ang , ang mga bundok na ito ang unang lumaban. Pinahina nila ang lakas ng hangin, piniga ang mga ulap, at inabsorb ang bagsik ng ulan—para iligtas tayo sa mas matinding pinsala.

Hindi lang sila mga bundok — sila ang ating stormbreakers, heroes, at protectors.
Ngayon, tayo naman ang dapat lumaban para sa kanila — ipagtanggol natin ang Sierra Madre at ang mga kabundukan ng Luzon.

"THE STAR OF LIFE"

MANY USE IT, BUT DON'T KNOW WHAT IT MEANS...

In the early 70s the first Emergency Services developing in the United States chose an orange cross as a medical symbol. This symbol conflicts with the one used by the International Committee of the Red Cross.

The American Red Cross did not approve it because it violated international treaties where it protected itself from indiscriminate use. This emblem, in any of its variations, could only be used to protect against violence during war conflicts and to ensure humanitarian work, and not by civilian teams during peacetime.

This forces health services to have to look for a new symbol to identify them within the Emergency system. The only corporation that could sustain it. It was "Jhonson & Jhonson" when protected by a federal law in the US

Facing this situation Leo R. Schwartz, on February 1, 1973 was one of the managers of the National Highway Safety Administration, where he designed a blue star with a special configuration, where each bar represented each of the six components of the system.

What Does The Star of Life Mean?

The star of life, as it intended to represent its inventor, represents the time we must spend with a patient following established steps, which should last 10 minutes.

This means that, if we add each event that we perform at each point of the six that the star has in the set order, as if we were looking at the hands of a clock, we would realize that this star represents the patient's "golden hour".

The six tips of the star of life indicate the six tasks that Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) Advanced Emergency Medical Technicians (AEMTs) and PARAMEDICs have to perform, following the survival chain:

1- The first tip is the emergency call to the office, an office that channels resources, understood as such resources to health workers, police officers, firefighters, etc.

2-The second point is the notification to the staff or resource necessary to solve the intervention.

3-The third tip is the early response of the personnel who are on their way to attend the Emergency, emergency or accident.

4-The fourth tip is the care at the place of intervention that the TEM dispenses to the injured.

5-The fifth point is the care in the transport to the hospital that the TEM disposes to the patient in the ambulance.

6-The sixth point is the transfer to the useful health center according to the patient's pathology, where he will receive the final care.

👉Kung ikaw ay nakagat ng langgam, huwag mo itong patayin. Sa halip, pasalamatan mo ito!** 🐜
Maraming tao ang nakakaranas ng kagat ng langgam paminsan-minsan, ngunit agad nila itong pinapatay. Kung alam lamang nila ang benepisyo ng kagat na iyon, baka pinasalamatan pa nila ito sa halip na patayin. Kaya't halina, mga kaibigan, alamin natin ang mga benepisyo ng kagat ng langgam!

👉Ang kagat ng langgam ay nagpapasigla sa sirkulasyon ng dugo at nagpapadami ng mga pulang selula ng dugo**, na nagdudulot ng mas malakas na enerhiya at sigla sa katawan.

👉Pinapagana rin nito ang mga nerve cells sa utak** sa pamamagitan ng mga senyales na nagmumula sa lugar ng kagat papunta sa sensory cells sa ilalim ng utak.

👉Kung maraming kagat ang natanggap ng katawan nang sabay-sabay sa iisang lugar**, ito ay nagdudulot ng *"skin fibrosis"* (pagpapakapal ng balat), na nagpapalabas sa balat na mas matibay laban sa bacteria at mas resistente sa mataas na temperatura.

👉Kung ang mga kagat ay nasa iba't ibang parte ng katawan**, ito ay nagdudulot ng *"blood clotting"* (paglalapot ng dugo), na nagbibigay-daan sa pagbuo ng mas matigas na layer ng dugo. Ang epektong ito ay nagpapalakas sa mga blood vessels, nagproprotekta laban sa mga lason, at tumutulong sa liver para hindi masyadong mahirapan.

**Dagdag Kaalaman:**
- **Skin Fibrosis** = Ang balat ay nagiging mas matibay laban sa bacteria at mas resistente sa init.
- **Blood Clotting** = Ang dugo ay nagkakaroon ng mas makapal na layer, na nagproprotekta sa mga blood vessels at tumutulong sa liver

Ang aming nakalap na record bilang pinakamatandang nabuhay ay si Petronila Opol sa edad na 129. Sina Sumagaysay, Calma, Pedris at Salazar ay nawawala ang mga dukumento.

Nabuhay si Opol, sampung taon bago pa sinilang si Jose Rizal, Isa ito sa nasa Bagumbayan (Luneta) ng barilin ang dakilang bayani, 44 years old si Opol noon. Naabutan nito ang 43 na Governor-General na nanungkulan sa bansa, hanggang kina Aguinaldo at Marcos.

Namatay si Opol noong February 7, 1981, 22 days pagkatapos ma-lift ang Martial Law.
