✨ Mama Moment: When You Snap… and Your Toddler Still Says “I Love You” ✨
Last night my 23-month-old woke up irritated — crying, refusing everything, and nothing I asked made sense to him.
I was tired. Zero sleep.
And when exhaustion took over, I snapped.
He stopped crying… and went back to sleep.
And today, sa CR pa talaga ng resto, he refused to remove his pants, shoes, socks — lahat na.
While I was changing his diaper, I said:
“Mama is tired. Please don’t make this difficult. Mama will give you to Dada.”
Not my best moment.
But do you know what he did?
He looked at me and said:
“Thank you for washing my petpet, Mama. I love you.”
And that’s when it hit me:
✨ One snapping moment doesn’t define you as a parent.
✨ Or damage your child.
✨ Or erase all the love you give every single day.
Toddlers don’t see your tired voice as rejection.
They don’t remember the frustration.
They remember the warmth, the care, the security you give them every day.
And the way he still said “thank you” and “I love you”?
That’s not fear.
That’s secure attachment.
That means he still feels safe with you — even in your imperfect moments.
✔️You’re allowed to get tired.
✔️You’re allowed to lose patience.
✔️You’re human.
What matters is the overall pattern:
🤱🏻You’re present
🤱🏻You try your best
🤱🏻You love him
🤱🏻And he feels that
Motherhood isn’t about perfection.
It’s about repair, connection, and showing up again tomorrow with the same love.
So to every tired mama:
If you snapped today…
If you’re running on no sleep…
If you feel guilty…
Your child is growing emotionally healthy because of you, not despite you.
You’re doing so much better than you think. 🤍
