๐ก๐๐ช๐ฆ | YAKAP Caravan Brings Health Awareness to Students at CSU-Lasam
LASAM, CAGAYANโStudents of Cagayan State UniversityโLasam, attended the PhilHealth Yaman ng Kalusugan Program (YAKAP) Caravan at the DARP Hall today, August 29, 2025, promoting healthcare services and benefits under the theme โBagong Pilipinas, malayo ka sa sakit. Magpa-YAKAP ka na!โ
The event focused on raising health awareness and encouraging students to take part in the governmentโs universal health care initiatives.
Dr. George A. Liban, Social Insurance Assistant II, opened the discussion by presenting the wide range of PhilHealth benefit packages, which include the Maternity Care Package, Normal Spontaneous Delivery Package, Animal Bite Treatment, TB treatment through DOTS, OPB malaria package, Outpatient Mental Health Package, and inpatient and outpatient services.
Meanwhile, Nenie Cammayo guided students on how to register in PhilHealth YAKAP and detailed the benefits that can be availed, such as medical checkups, laboratory services, cancer screening tests, and access to medicines. She also shared that the program has expanded its medicine coverage from 21 to 75 essential medicines, a milestone for preventive and accessible care.
As the program concluded, Ms. Ronna Grace E. Talosig, taught participants how to properly fill out the PhilHealth Konsulta Registration Form (PKRF) to ensure smooth registration.
The YAKAP is one of PhilHealthโs programs, offering an enhanced package for primary healthcare and a broader range of services, including consultations, free medicines, and diagnostic tests.
