𝐕𝐀𝐍𝐆𝐔𝐀𝐑𝐃𝐒 𝐎𝐅 𝐍𝐀𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐄 | Candidates for Mr. and Ms. CSU-Lasam 2025 took part in a tree planting activity earlier today August 30, 2025 as part of their pre-pageant engagements.

𝐁𝐄𝐘𝐎𝐍𝐃 𝐁𝐄𝐀𝐔𝐓𝐘 | This year’s search for Mr. and Miss CSU Lasam goes beyond the spotlight with the inclusion of Pre-Pageant Activities designed to enrich the candidates’ skills and character.

Last August 28, 2025, the aspirants engaged in a Personality Development session with Miss Kimberly Faye Sambo, reigning Bb. Lasam–Turismo, followed by a Question and Answer Coaching led by Mr. Rocky Boy Casilana, Campus Information Officer, to hone their confidence under pressure.

Yesterday, the candidates attended a Makeup Session led by Jillian Sales and Mikmik Verbo, two of the most sought-after hair and makeup artists in Cagayan. The session aimed to enhance their stage presence by refining their looks and boosting their confidence ahead of the main event.

Meanwhile, today’s schedule highlights a Tree Planting Activity and a Master Class Pasarela Training with Ramon Ebido, one of the municipality’s finest choreographers.

“𝐖𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐖𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐞 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐏𝐞𝐧𝐬 𝐁𝐥𝐞𝐞𝐝” — Casilana Challenges Ripple Staff

“May you continue to nurture that passion—speak while your words spill, capture while your eyes wander, and write while your pens bleed.”

This was the challenge posed by The Ripple Adviser, Rocky Boy M. Casilana, during the 1st Editorial Board Meeting and Orientation of the publication on August 29, 2025.

In his message, Casilana urged the new and returning student-journalists to embody responsibility, truth, and integrity in their practice of campus journalism.

“Be responsible student-journalists. Carry the responsibility of truth. Work with integrity, even when no one is watching,” he emphasized.

The meeting marked the first official assembly of Academic Year 2025–2026, gathering members of the Editorial Board and staff to discuss organizational duties, upcoming coverages, and their shared commitment to uphold the values of campus journalism.

𝗡𝗘𝗪𝗦 | YAKAP Caravan Brings Health Awareness to Students at CSU-Lasam

LASAM, CAGAYAN—Students of Cagayan State University–Lasam, attended the PhilHealth Yaman ng Kalusugan Program (YAKAP) Caravan at the DARP Hall today, August 29, 2025, promoting healthcare services and benefits under the theme “Bagong Pilipinas, malayo ka sa sakit. Magpa-YAKAP ka na!”

The event focused on raising health awareness and encouraging students to take part in the government’s universal health care initiatives.

Dr. George A. Liban, Social Insurance Assistant II, opened the discussion by presenting the wide range of PhilHealth benefit packages, which include the Maternity Care Package, Normal Spontaneous Delivery Package, Animal Bite Treatment, TB treatment through DOTS, OPB malaria package, Outpatient Mental Health Package, and inpatient and outpatient services.

Meanwhile, Nenie Cammayo guided students on how to register in PhilHealth YAKAP and detailed the benefits that can be availed, such as medical checkups, laboratory services, cancer screening tests, and access to medicines. She also shared that the program has expanded its medicine coverage from 21 to 75 essential medicines, a milestone for preventive and accessible care.

As the program concluded, Ms. Ronna Grace E. Talosig, taught participants how to properly fill out the PhilHealth Konsulta Registration Form (PKRF) to ensure smooth registration.

The YAKAP is one of PhilHealth’s programs, offering an enhanced package for primary healthcare and a broader range of services, including consultations, free medicines, and diagnostic tests.

𝗕𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗧𝗔 | CTED, Nagwagi ng Pangkalahatang Kampeonato sa Buwan ng Wika

LASAM, Cagayan — Sa ipinakitang talino at husay ng mga estudyante mula sa College of Teacher Education (CTED) sa iba’t ibang paligsahan, matagumpay nilang nasungkit ang pangkalahatang kampeonato sa mga patimpalak na ginanap bilang bahagi ng pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Wika ngayong Agosto 28, 2025.

Sa Pagsulat ng Sanaysay, ipinamalas ni Jane Elpedes ang kanyang husay na nagbigay-daan upang manalo, habang nakamit ni Jesslyn Garcia mula sa College of Information and Computing Sciences (CICS) ang pangalawang puwesto at pumangatlo naman si Guian Aldrich Cabutaje mula College of Industrial Technology (CIT).

Pinangunahan naman ni Jayshelle Jacinto ang Dagliang Talumpati, na sinundan ni Chrisjustine Fernandez ng CICS. Sa Tagisan ng Talino, nagwagi ang pangkat ni Princess Dela Cruz, habang pumangalawa ang CICS at pumangatlo ang CIT.

Itinanghal namang kampeon si Dave Pagtama sa Spoken Poetry, samantalang nakamit ng CICS at CIT ang ikalawa at ikatlong puwesto. Sa Poster Making Contest, nagkampeon ang CTED at CIT, na sinundan ng CICS.

Samantala, nasungkit ng CIT ang kampeonato sa Kundiman at Slogan Making Contest, habang pumangalawa ang CICS. Sa pinakatampok na bahagi ng selebrasyon, ang Trashion Show, muling nagningning ang CIT matapos masungkit ang unang gantimpala, kasunod ang CICS, at pumangatlo ang CTED at isa pang kalahok mula sa CICS.

Sa entablado ng Dagliang Talumpati at Spoken Poetry umalingawngaw ang lakas ng wika; sa himig ng Kundiman dumaloy ang damdaming Pilipino; sa Pagsusulat ng Sanaysay namukadkad ang dunong at paninindigan; at sa Paggawa ng Poster at Slogan sumiklab ang kulay at imahinasyon. Hindi rin nagpahuli ang katalinuhan sa Tagisan ng Talino at ang malikhaing moda sa natatanging Trashion Show.

Bawat patimpalak ay nagsilbing salamin ng diwa ng pagka-Filipino; sa wika, sining, talino, at inobasyon na patuloy na nagbibigay kulay at dangal sa ating pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Wika.

𝗕𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗧𝗔 | CIT, Nagningning sa Trashion Show Competition

LASAM, Cagayan — Nagningning at naging sentro ng atensyon si Nadine Gail Catalan mula sa College of Industrial Technology (CIT) matapos masungkit ang unang parangal sa Trashion Show Competition bilang bahagi ng pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Wika ngayong ika 28 ng Agosto 2025.

Suot ang kanyang kahanga-hangang Filipiniana na yari sa mga takip ng bote na kulay asul, p**a, at dilaw, maingat na inayos ang disenyo upang magsilbing sagisag ng bandila ng Pilipinas, isang likhang may makabuluhang kuwento at inspirasyon.

Anim na kalahok mula sa mga kolehiyong CICS, CIT, at CTED ang lumahok sa nasabing patimpalak na tampok ang mga Filipiniana na yari sa recycled na materyales tulad ng sako, lumang papel, compact disc, takip ng bote, plastik, at iba pa.

Samantala, nakamit ni Ednalinn Malana mula sa College of Information and Computing Sciences (CICS) ang ikalawang parangal at ikatlong parangal naman ay kapwa nasungkit nina Baby Carl Madamba ng College of Teacher Education (CTED) at Frances Tamayo ng CICS.

Matagumpay na naisakatuparan ang Trashion Show Competition na nagsilbing pinakatampok na bahagi ng Buwan ng Wika 2025, patunay na maaaring ipahayag ang pagmamahal sa wika at kultura habang isinasabuhay ang pagkamalikhain.
