In a significant stride toward fostering inter-institutional collaboration, the College of Industrial Technology (CIT) of Cagayan State University Lasam Campus and Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College (ISPSC) Santiago Campus formally sealed their partnership through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing ceremony today, October 22, at ISPSC Santiago.
Anchored on the theme โBuilding Bridges Through Collaboration: A Journey Towards Universityhood,โ the alliance seeks to strengthen academic exchange, research linkages, and shared initiatives that advance both institutionsโ commitment to excellence and regional development.

The program opened with a welcome address from Dr. Ranec A. Azarias, Assistant Campus Director of ISPSC Santiago, who expressed enthusiasm for the partnership and its role in cultivating innovation beyond institutional borders.
Dr. Reymart G. Ballocanag, Research Coordinator, introduced the undertaking and underscored the significance of collaborative efforts that promote mutual academic growth and sustainable knowledge exchange.

Prof. Dr. Florante Victor M. Balatico, Campus Executive Officer of CSU Lasam, highlighted the importance of wisdom, strength, and beauty in pursuing purposeful collaborations that ultimately benefit the studentsโthe heart of every educational endeavor.
โWe exist for our institution because we have our students,โ CEO Balatico emphasized.
Echoing this sentiment, Dr. John Carlo Banan, CIT Dean, described the MOA not merely as a document, but as a bridge that unites two learning communities.
โThis MOA is not merely a documentโit is a bridge. A bridge that connects Ilocos Sur and Cagayan, that unites educators, innovators, and visionaries,โ Dean Banan shared.

Representing ISPSC Santiago, Dr. Allan O. Ramos, Campus Director, expressed optimism toward the partnership, emphasizing its purpose beyond documentation.
โThis is not just a special MOA Signing, itโs actually more of learning development. Hindi lang ito sa papel. We will learn from each other, because your success is also our success,โ Dr. Ramos conveyed.
The session continued with the signing proper, followed by a campus tour and an exhibit of student research outputs. #
