The loudest man in media turned into the quietest senator when it mattered most.

During the impeachment trial of VP Sara Duterte, Tulfo had nothing to say. No grandstanding. No fire. No moral outrage. He simply voted to send the case back to the House—stalling the process, protecting power.

This is the same man who made a career yelling at janitors and security guards on national TV. The same man who interrupts the poor mid-sentence to lecture them about justice. The same man who promised “permanent solutions” in the Senate.

Where was that mouth when we needed it?

He once said: “Somehow, we have to convene—come what may.”
Then he turned around and helped bury the case.

His supporters noticed.
"Bat ka nagkaganyan idol, di ka naman dating ganyan."

They’re right. He changed.
Not for the better—just for the powerful.

And don’t forget this: Erwin Tulfo, his brother, didn’t sign the impeachment complaint either. Said he wanted to be “impartial.” What a coincidence. Same family. Same silence. Same betrayal.

This isn’t neutrality.
This is self-preservation dressed up as principle.

He once quoted Magsaysay: “Those who have less in life should have more in law.”
But now he’s handing that law back to the rich and powerful.

He even filed the Anti-Taray bill to punish rude government employees.
But when the nation demanded backbone, he gave us dead air.

What kind of senator plays judge in a constitutional crisis and votes to delay justice?

What kind of senator turns his back on his own slogans?

Not the senator the people voted for.

Not the Idol they thought they knew.

| Senator Joel Villanueva has received criticisms from netizens over a viral video where he was seen telling Sen. Imee Marcos to cut off Sen. Risa Hontiveros while the latter was explaining her motion for the senators to take their oath as impeachment judges on Tuesday for the trial of Vice President Sara Duterte.

To recall, Marcos interjected while Hontiveros was still interpolating to oppose some of the points stated in the privilege speech of Sen. Ronald Dela Rosa seeking the outright dismissal of the impeachment case against the Vice President.

In a video circulating online, Villanueva was seen telling Marcos to raise a point of order to stop Hontiveros from opposing the motion of Dela Rosa.

“Pwede ka na magsalita, actually. Pwede mo na sabihin sa mic yung point of order para tumigil siya,” Villanueva said.

Marcos then approached the podium, raised the point of order, cutting off Hontiveros, which prompted Senate President Chiz Escudero to suspend the session in order to ease the tension.

Some netizens didn't like what Villanueva did, describing him as "ill-mannered," "rude," "disrespectful," and "a fake follower of God."

He is the son of evangelist Eddie Villanueva, founder and spiritual director of the Jesus Is Lord Church Worldwide. Villanueva has yet to release any statement regarding this controversy.
