PDRRMC Lifts Suspension of In-Person Classes and Work in Albay

Due to the recent improvement in weather conditions, the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) of Albay has officially lifted the suspension of in-person classes and work in government offices and agencies. This follows the issuance of Advisory No. 2025-15, which was previously in effect.

Starting tomorrow, Saturday, July 26, 2025, all educational institutions and government offices are expected to resume normal operations. However, authorities emphasize the continued need for vigilance, as the Southwest Monsoon may still impact the region.

The public and Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices (LDRRMOs) are advised to stay alert and monitor official updates from PAGASA and local authorities for any further advisories.

Albay Governor Noel Ebriega Rosal announced that the new Josefina Belmonte Duran Albay Provincial Hospital in Ligao City is set for a soft opening in November. The hospital building has been completed and was energized on July 22 with assistance from the Albay Electric Cooperative.

Preparations are ongoing, including testing medical equipment and securing necessary licenses from the Department of Health. The facility will initially offer essential services such as CT scans, dialysis, laboratory tests, and X-ray services on the first two floors, with an initial capacity of 150 beds.

Future expansions include establishing an Animal Bite Treatment Center, a drug testing laboratory, and expanding e-konsulta services to improve healthcare access for Albay residents.
