OVER P4M WORTH OF ILLEGAL DRUGS IN CAMSUR BUY-BUST OPERATION
A 30-year-old man was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Pili, Camarines Sur, on August 2, 2025, leading to the seizure of over P4 million worth of suspected shabu.
The operation, which took place at approximately 4:40 a.m., was conducted by a joint force from the PNP Bicol's Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 5, the Pili Municipal Police Station, and the Provincial Intelligence Unit of the Camarines Sur Police Provincial Office, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) - Regional Office V.
The suspect, identified by the alias "Muni," is a resident of Fort Area, Baseco, Tondo, Manila, who was residing in Barangay Pawili, Pili, Camarines Sur.
Authorities confiscated 12 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing approximately 600 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated street value of P4,080,000. The suspect and the seized evidence have been brought to the Pili Municipal Police Station for proper documentation and disposition.
The suspect now faces charges for violating Republic Act No. 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
PBGEN Nestor C. Babagay, Jr., Acting Regional Director, commended the operatives for their "excellence, dedication, and coordinated action," which he said was key to the successful operation. He added that the success is a testament to the effective collaboration between police units and the PDEA in their pursuit of illegal drug offenders and urged them to remain vigilant in their law enforcement duties to maintain peace and order in the region.
