READ: KEEP YOUR PETS SAFE, RELAXED AMID THE NEW YEAR'S FESTIVITIES
Don’t take your pets outside when fireworks are being lit. Your pets might get scared and run away, keep them indoors, it also helps our pets avoid ingesting dangerous substances, like Watusi and other explosive materials.
Exercise or play with them to tire them out before the festivities start so that they can sleep through it.
If possible, place them in a room away from loud noises, remember they have a more sensitive sense of hearing compared to humans.
Provide adequate food and water, and a blanket or item of clothing with your scent to help them relax.
Playing calming music and the use of an anti-anxiety wrap or jacket can also help calm your pets.
Keep safe and calm, and may we all have a prosperous new year!
