Basic
By Laiza Marie Tanguin
Young fashion bloggers can be seen anywhere on any sort of social media. They are scattered all over the world, sharing their own style, taste, and tips on how to work on baggy, old, or anything that they would like to try new or they think would trend. They also share trendy hairstyles and what’s appropriate shade should their makeup would be.. It’s a matter of taking risks in combining these pieces of clothes and especially with their colours. It’s a matter of self expression. The old school is the new school. Generation is changing yet the fashion sense from three decades ago is coming back haunting us, influencing us.
But what’s in today’s trendy fashion is the basic and minimalist.
The usual colours you can see to their clothes are black, white, and grey. I call it a playing safe trendy fashion for it works on everybody. Plain and simple that isn’t too much for the eyes because of its minimal colour. You won’t find it hard to combine the colours for the three complements each other.
For men’s usual look, they are matching a Hanes plain white or black shirt, black fitted jeans, and for the shoes, a topsider, a Nike Roshe, or just plain white or black sneakers. For women, they are using crop tops or muscle tees, boyfriend jeans, high waited jeans also called as joni jeans to flaunt their curves, flip flops, 2 inch heels, or sneakers to sum up the look. They consider it as a happy colour. How ironic it is to say but the message they want to put is maybe more on being comfortable on what you wear and such colours is a sophisticated colour, dominant yet classy making you feel elated.
When it comes to girl’s make up, it still has the same shade, dark. How girl’s do they make up is that they put great importance on eyebrows for eyebrows is everything. Eyebrow game can be too strong, cat eyed, hair is long and on flick, and a dark or light matte lipstick are the only options, dear. Girl’s hair can have her messy curls giving it a volume. When it comes to men’s hair, the trendy style today is none other than the man bun. They make their hair long enough reaching their shoulders and put it on a bun. Some have their hair undershaved and just ties up the remaining hair and then viola!
In the end, it’s not about the brand. It’s about how you carry it. We have different personalities and our personalities never depended on what kind of clothes that we wore. But critics will always be there to judge your style, so just shake it off and own it.
