Let us begin by answering the basic questions on how Bicol University handles red-tagging cases. This first set lays the foundation for protecting students from harmful and baseless accusations that aim to silence and suppress their voices within the campus. 🗣️

By addressing these concerns clearly and comprehensively, we take our first step toward building a safer, more peaceful community where students are free to think, speak, and express themselves without fear.

What's up, Y'ers!

As we venture into another academic year, we welcome our new youth advocates aboard in the BU College Y Club through a general orientation held last Saturday, November 29.

During the virtual event, Mr. Donnie Charlo Jazmin of YMCA-Albay discussed the history of the YMCA organization to the members present. This is an opportune time not just to reconnect with the new members of our growing family but also to aid them as they grow into truly empowered individuals of society. Always, as our maxim goes: Empowering Youth, Strengthening Communities.

Violence Against Women and Children is not only a personal tragedy, but it is a systemic injustice that echoes through generations. In a society where colonial legacies, cultural shifts, and modern realities continue to shape the lives of women and children, the call for justice has never been more urgent. As cases of VAWC and gender-based violence continue to rise, so must our collective commitment to awareness, accountability, and action.

In observance of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, the Bachelor of Arts in Political Science (Block B Duyog – Babaylan Group) invites the University community to a forum dedicated to confronting the truths behind gender inequality—past and present. Anchored in our pre-colonial heritage of respect and balance, and guided by contemporary legal frameworks, this event seeks to empower participants with the knowledge, sensitivity, and agency needed to challenge abuse and uphold human dignity.

This forum is more than a requirement—it is a call to action. It urges students, faculty, advocates, and organizations to stand together, amplify silenced voices, and reclaim spaces where women and children can thrive free from violence.

BONIFACIO DAY 🇵🇭

May the inspiration of one of the nation's valiant heroes, Andres Bonifacio, burn in the hearts of every Filipino who fights for justice and peace. We have gone through so many problems and challenges as a citizenry even as we always longed for a positive change in society, but it is not too late for us to instigate what we aspire for. Whatever our status in life is and no matter how diverse we are, being the nation's change agents is still our noble vocation — a mission greater than ourselves.

To live this out is to recognize the power our small acts hold in bringing great impacts. We just need to embrace our gifts and abilities to do something meaningful. As Y'ers of BU-C*C, we already have our call: EMPOWERING YOUTH, STRENGTHENING COMMUNITIES. 💪🏻
