Yesterday, September 11, we gathered in the morning for a ๐๐ถ๐ฎ๐๐ผ๐ป๐ด, ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ป ๐๐๐ถ๐ฑ๐ฟ๐ผ, ๐๐ฒ๐๐๐ฒ, coming together as a community to care for our shores and protect the waters that sustain life.
With every piece of trash collected and every hand that helped, we were reminded that caring for creation does not require grand gestures. Sometimes, it simply begins with showing up, lending a hand, and choosing to care.
This activity was also our simple response to the call to care for our home, especially as we continue the ๐๐๐๐ฌ๐จ๐ง ๐จ๐ ๐๐ซ๐๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง, with this yearโs theme, โ๐๐ฆ๐ฆ๐๐ซ๐ฌ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐ข๐ง ๐๐ข๐ฏ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐๐ญ๐๐ซโ (๐๐ณ๐๐ค๐ข๐๐ฅ ๐๐:๐,๐๐).
But our responsibility does not end when the clean-up is over.
Reduce the waste that we produce, avoid littering, properly dispose of our garbage, protect our waterways, and encourage others to do the same. One clean share begins with one person choosing not to throw away a piece of trash.
