𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 | 𝗚𝗖𝗖𝗡𝗛𝗦 𝗧𝗩𝗕 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗔𝗦𝗣𝗖 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

Gregorio C. Catenza National High School conducted a TV scriptwriting and broadcasting training workshop on July 18, 2026, at Computer Laboratory 3, in preparation for the 2026 Area Schools Press Conference (ASPC). The workshop was led by Richard De los Santos Jr., GCCNHS's first Filipino TV broadcasting anchor to qualify for the National Schools Press Conference (NSPC).

The training aimed to develop and strengthen student journalists—deepening their knowledge and teaching them the fundamentals of TV broadcasting.

As the session wrapped up, participants left with warm smiles, new friendships, and a stronger shared commitment to excellence in TV broadcasting.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 | 𝐓𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐚 𝐌𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐬𝐲𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐮𝐦 on 𝐀𝐧𝐭𝐢 𝐁𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐀𝐧𝐭𝐢-𝐃𝐫𝐮𝐠 𝐀𝐛𝐮𝐬𝐞 and 𝐄𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬

As part of their 31st Police Community Relation Month Celebration, the Municipal Police of Tunga conducted a symposium at 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗼 𝗖. 𝗖𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘇𝗮 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 (𝗚𝗖𝗖𝗡𝗛𝗦), highlighting the importance of Anti Bullying and Anti-Drug Abuse Awareness and Emergency Preparedness.

With the theme "𝑺𝒂 𝒃𝒂𝒈𝒐𝒏𝒈 𝑷𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒑𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒔, 𝑼𝒈𝒏𝒂𝒚𝒂𝒏𝒈 𝑷𝒖𝒍𝒊𝒔 𝒂𝒕 𝑴𝒂𝒎𝒂𝒎𝒂𝒚𝒂𝒏: 𝑻𝒂𝒑𝒂𝒕, 𝑴𝒂𝒂𝒂𝒔𝒂𝒉𝒂𝒏, 𝒂𝒕 𝑵𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒎𝒅𝒂𝒎𝒂𝒏 𝒏𝒈 𝑩𝒂𝒚𝒂𝒏," students from various clubs and organizations gathered at the school's Computer Laboratory 3 for the said lecturing from the police personnels.

They discussed about bullying, including its types (verbal, social, physical, and cyber bullying), and its effect on students, teachers, parents, and others involved —stating that bullying will have a long-term impact, not just to the people involved but also to the whole nation.

Afterwards, one personnel shared basic safety tips, including a demonstration, on what to do during school shootings, one of which is to always stay calm at all costs.

He also tackled and gave a brief elaboration about drug abuse, the different types of drugs, and its effect on health and the society.

Moreover, this symposium reflects the efforts of the Tunga Municipal Police in safeguarding and keeping the school in order, working hand-in-hand with its personnel to ensure the safety and well being of every learner, teacher, and others inside and outside the campus.

Ang araw na ito ay ang paggunita sa kasarinlan ng ating bayan. Kasarinlan na hindi kailanman matatawaran sapagkat ‎hindi mabibilang ang mga Pilipinong nagbuwis ng buhay upang mapalaya ang bansang kanilang nasilayan mula ng sila ay isilang.

Ang araw na ito ay tagumpay ng bawat Pilipino. Tagumpay na nakamit mula sa daang-daang taong pagkawalang karapatan sa ilalim ng mga kastilang may kontrol sa kapangyarihan.

Sa pagdiriwang ng "Araw ng Kalayaan", ito ay ating bigyang pagpupugay, hindi lang para sa pagdiriwang ng ating paglaya, kundi pag-alala sa mga taong nasa likod nito para makamit ito ng bawat Pilipino.

Gregorio C. Cantenza National High School holds a Homeroom Meeting with their students' parents and guardians to discuss the many changes happening in their children's education.

This June 11, 2026, GCCNHS held a meeting with their students' parents to discuss the changes to their children's education like the new Three-Term Semester and the Strengthened Senior High School Program.

Started at 2:00 PM, the parents went to their children's respective classrooms to join these meetings.

After the discussion and explanation of the new changes that were to be implemented or had already been implemented, the parent's went ahead to assign their new HPTA Officers for this school year.

The next HR Meeting is said to possibly be held around the first terms' Portfolio day.

The teachers and parents plan to work together once again to give their children better education and make a good place where they can learn.

Gregorio C. Catenza National High School welcomes their new and returning students for the school year 2026-2027 during Flag Ceremony.

Hundreds of students enrolled in GCCNHS arrived in the school ground to attend the first flag ceremony of their term, with a surprise waiting for them afterwards.

The ceremony went as usual, the raising of the Philippine Flag, the reciting of the DepEd Vision and Mission, the singing of the DepEd Leyte hymn, as well as the the GCCNHS hymn.

After the singing of the school hymn, the school introduced all their teachers, class advisors, and non teaching staffs to the students, as well as the new assigned teachers of some grade levels and the SSLG Officers.

The School Principal Ms. Evangeline C. Mercado then gave her speech, encouraging the students to do their best. "Don't settle for less, strive for the best." said Ms. Evangeline.

After the welcoming speech, SSLG President Sean T. Aruta held a trivia with prizes of school supplies for the students to answer.

Many of the students participated in the quizzes and now have notebooks and pens to help them start their new school year in GCCNHS.
