Sinabi ni Solomon, ang pinakamatalinong hari na nabuhay: “Time and chance happeneth to them all.” (Ecclesiastes 9:11)

Kung ang oras at pagkakataon ay nangyayari sa lahat ng tao—pantay-pantay lang tayo.

Pareho ang 24 hours.
Pareho ang pagkakataong dumarating.

So what makes a difference?

What makes a difference is what you do.

Hindi ang oras.
Hindi ang pagkakataon.
Kundi ang ginagawa mo habang meron ka nito.

Ang tanong na “Is it well with thee?” ay itinanong ni Elisha sa isang babae na may malalim na pinagdadaanan—ang Shunammite woman, na nawalan ng anak.

Hindi niya ito sinabi dahil okay ang sitwasyon niya, kundi dahil pinili niyang lumapit sa Diyos sa gitna ng sakit.

Kaya nang tanungin siya tungkol sa kanyang sarili, asawa, at anak, ang sagot niya ay simple ngunit puno ng pananampalataya:

You will truly admire him as a father and as a college professor.

He was once diagnosed with a terminal illness, but he fought bravely and by God’s grace, buhay at malakas pa rin siya ngayon.

He spoke with pride about the achievements of his children, especially his youngest, na ngayon ay nag-aaral ng Medicine.

Higit sa pagiging Uncle, naging professor ko rin siya sa college—mahal at nirerespeto ng kanyang mga estudyante dahil sa kanyang wisdom, kindness, at dedication.

At 59, he is looking forward to life after retirement with hope and gratitude.

And I shared something productive he could do in this next season of his life.

Kudos to all fathers who work hard for their families.
