The fun run was led by Dr. Mariela N. Calima, School Principal, together with Dr. Editha Sison, Department Head of MAPEH, who both emphasized the goal of the activity to raise funds in support of PNHS athletes who will represent the school in upcoming athletic competitions. The event was organized under the supervision of Ms. Nikki D. Frias, 2025 PNHS Intramurals Chairman.

Participants from various grade levels and departments joined the early morning run, showcasing not only their endurance but also their school pride and camaraderie. The refreshing sea breeze and scenic view of the Lingayen Baywalk fueled their enthusiasm as they ran for a meaningful cause.

In her message, Dr. Calima expressed appreciation for the overwhelming support from the PNHS community.

The ARAL Program is established by Republic Act No. 12028. This law mandates a national academic intervention to address learning loss among basic education learners, especially in reading, mathematics, and science, and ensures accessible learning support for those struggling to meet minimum proficiency levels.

Dr. Mariela N. Calima, PNHS Principal, warmly welcomed the participants as the host school head, expressing pride that PNHS became the venue for such a significant milestone. Dr. Daisy G. Tello, Public Schools District Supervisor and host PSDS, emphasized the importance of collective action in addressing learning gaps, while Dr. Rosario O. Cabrera, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent, pledged her full support for the program.

Also present were Education Program Supervisors from the Schools Division Office I, Pangasinan, namely: Dr. Mechora Viduya (Filipino), Dr. Cielito Fe Angeles (TLE and ALS), Dr. Rustico Abalos Jr. (Araling Panlipunan), and Dr. Bernardo De Guzman (MAPEH). To deepen the participants’ understanding of the program, Dr. Carmina C. Gutierrez, Chief Education Program Supervisor of the Curriculum Implementation Division, provided an orientation, underscoring ARAL’s mission to strengthen reading, numeracy, and other foundational skills.

The event was further highlighted by the participation of department heads, English teachers, ARAL Program tutors, and ARAL learners of PNHS, who represent the heart of the initiative.

Parents also showed their strong commitment to the program through the presence of Mr. Modesto Patricio R. Singson, SPTA President of PNHS, who delivered a message of support and encouraged continued collaboration between families and schools.

The Local Government Unit of Lingayen, represented by Vice Mayor Jay Mark Kevin D. Crisostomo, likewise expressed support for education programs, affirming the vital role of community partnerships in sustaining ARAL’s success.

The ARAL Program is designed to provide learners with structured academic support and accessible interventions, ensuring that all students, especially those with learning gaps, receive the help they need to thrive.

Today, as the country celebrates 𝕹𝖆𝖙𝖎𝖔𝖓𝖆𝖑 𝕳𝖊𝖗𝖔𝖊𝖘 𝕯𝖆𝖞, Filipinos reflect on the lives and sacrifices of men and women who gave everything in the name of freedom. From the revolutionaries who marched into battle armed with nothing but courage, to the writers who awakened a nation through words, their heroism continues to inspire generations long after the smoke of war has cleared.

Their stories remind us that the fight for independence was never easy, and that liberty was won through both valor and vision. 𝐘𝐞𝐭 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐢𝐬𝐦 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐡𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲.
