I want to share something about Pastor Vlad that thousands of people have never seen.
Last January, my wife and I had the privilege of attending the Grand Opening of Hungry Generation Church. It was such an honor to witness such a special moment in the church’s history.
One of my favorite things whenever I’m with Pastor Vlad is seeing who he is off the stage and learning from him. We’ve been receiving from his leadership for years, but seeing his life in person is something different.
The day before Revival Weekend in Kennewick, I was in the media room trying to learn as much as I could so I could help serve during the event.
Then Pastor Vlad called me.
“AJ, come with me.”
I wasn’t sure what we were about to do.
We walked out into the cold.
Then he bent down, picked up an empty box, and kept walking.
I quietly followed him.
For the next several minutes, we walked around the new church building picking up trash, empty boxes, and whatever was left from the preparations. Together, we carried everything to the big dumpster.
Thousands of people saw Pastor Vlad preach that weekend.
Very few saw him picking up trash before the doors even opened.
That moment has stayed with me ever since.
That was the moment I realized that leadership isn’t proven on a stage. It’s proven by a servant’s heart.
Anyone can lead when people are watching. True leaders serve when no one is.
And that’s why today, I want to honor you.
Happy Birthday, Pastor !
Thank you for your humility.
Thank you for always making my wife and me feel seen whenever we’re with you. Thank you for being intentional with your words, for sharing wisdom so generously, and for living what you preach.
Your life has blessed us, and it continues to bless millions of people around the world.
We love you, we honor you, and we’re grateful for you.
Happy Birthday!
