There is no law against it,and it is not a violation of the anti- Wiretapping Law Becauase that law only applies to private communication. The key is that the enforcer must be in a public place where there is no reasonable expectation.

LIPA COMPONENT CITY POLICE STATION SUCCESSFULLY CONDUCTS SEARCH WARRANT OPERATION

Lipa City, Batangas – October 24, 2025 – The Lipa Component City Police Station, under the leadership of PLTCOL Aleli Cuyan Buaquen, Chief of Police, successfully implemented a search warrant operation which resulted in the confiscation of a short firearm.

The operation targeted a 48-year-old male engaged in buy-and-sell activities and employed as a driver, a native of San Juan, Batangas, and presently residing in Barangay San Salvador, Lipa City, Batangas. The operation was conducted by virtue of Search Warrant No. 2025-335, issued by the Executive Judge of the Regional Trial Court, Branch 55, Lipa City, for violation of Republic Act No. 10591, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Fi****ms and Ammunition Regulation Act.

During the implementation of the search warrant, personnel of the Lipa Component City Police Station recovered and confiscated the following items:

One (1) .45 caliber pistol of unknown brand, bearing serial number 881464, inserted with one (1) magazine containing seven (7) live ammunition; and

Four (4) additional magazines containing a total of thirty-four (34) live ammunition.

The operation was conducted in an orderly, transparent, and lawful manner, in the presence of barangay officials from Barangay San Salvador and the suspect himself. To ensure proper documentation and accountability, body-worn cameras were utilized throughout the conduct of the operation.

The Lipa Component City Police Station is currently preparing the necessary documents for the filing of appropriate charges for violation of Republic Act No. 10591 (Comprehensive Fi****ms and Ammunition Regulation Act) against the suspect.

International Criminal Court (ICC) ang petisyon ni dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na kuwestiyunin ang hurisdiksiyon ng korte sa kasong crimes against humanity kaugnay ng kampanya kontra droga.

Sa desisyon noong Oktubre 23, sinabi ng ICC na saklaw nito ang mga krimeng naganap mula 2011 hanggang 2019, panahong kasapi pa ang Pilipinas sa Rome Statute.

Tuloy ang imbestigasyon dahil nakipag-ugnayan pa rin ang pamahalaan sa ICC, kabilang ang paghingi ng deferral noong 2021 at pag-aresto kay Duterte nitong Marso 2025.

Ayon sa Korte Suprema, may tungkulin pa rin ang bansa na makipagtulungan sa ICC kahit umatras na ito sa tratado.

Inilahad ni Batangas 1st District Representative Leandro Legarda Leviste ang kanyang pagsusuri sa 2026 DPWH budget: hindi pantay ang alokasyon ng pondo sa mga rehiyon, gaya ng Region 3, Region 4A, NCR, at Pangasinan, na bumubuo ng halos 41% ng populasyon ng bansa at 60% ng ekonomiya, pero nakatanggap lamang ng humigit-kumulang 25% ng budget ng DPWH.

Iminungkahi ni Leviste na ipamahagi ang pondo sa mga lokal na pamahalaan sa pamamagitan ng National Tax Allotment na may patas na pormula batay sa 50% population, 25% land area, at 25% equal sharing.

Tinukoy din niya ang kakulangan ng pondo sa Region 4A bilang dahilan ng kanyang boto laban sa 2026 House General Appropriations Bill. Iminungkahi din ni Leviste na ibaba ng 25% ang presyo ng mga proyekto upang maiwasan ang tinatayang ₱150 bilyong kickbacks at ilaan ang matitipid sa mga classrooms at para sa mga rehiyong kulang sa pondo.

Ayon kay Leviste, mas pinapaboran din ng DPWH ang mga “horizontal projects” gaya ng flood control at asphalt overlay na mas madaling gawing substandard at pagkakitaan, kumpara sa “vertical projects” tulad ng classrooms na halos walang kickback. Umaasa si Leviste na sa pagpapatuloy ng mga deliberasyon ng 2026 DPWH budget ay magiging mas patas at mas tumutugon ito sa tunay na pangangailangan ng sambayanang Pilipino.
