NEWS | LEPT 2026: LCC posts nine new teachers
Via Gab Valida

Recording a passing rate of 100% for first-time takers, Lipa City Colleges (LCC) generates nine new Licensed Professional Teacher (LPTs) in the March 2026 Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LEPT), conducted nationwide, last March 15.

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) released the official list of passers on May 12, adding a new set of Licensed Professional Teachers (LPTs) to the LCC alumni roster.

Meanwhile, the recent results mirror the institution's previous performance, matching the exact number of successful examinees recorded during the September and November 2025 examination cycles.

LITERARY | One day, your mother will stop calling your name

You will realize
the voice that spent years asking if you ate,
if you got home safely,
if you needed anything-
is gone

And suddenly the house will sound out of order

Because mothers are noise
Necessary noise

Cabinets opening at dawn
The tired “anak” from another room
The small lectures
The asking
God, the constant asking

And you think it is annoying sometimes
Until one day
nobody asks anymore
God.
I beg you,
don't f*cking wait

I think children forget
that mothers are dying slowly in front of us

Little by little

A few more gray hairs
A slower walk
Hands becoming rougher
Eyes becoming more tired

And still they wake up every morning
and love us like it is breathing

Do you understand how terrifying that is?

That someone could love you that much
for that long
without ever asking for anything equal in return?
That someone could throw their entire existence into it

Their sleep. Their bodies.
Their youth. Their dreams.
F*ck.
Your mother threw away her goddamn dreams

While you are learning how to live,
your mother is slowly spending herself away
to make sure you can.

That is the exchange nobody talks about

And one day you will notice it too late

You will look at her hands
and realize they are not as steady anymore.
You will hear her repeat stories
because memory is beginning to slip
You will notice she sits down more often now.
Rests longer now
Gets tired easier now

Who will wait for you?
Who will nag you for wearing baggy clothes?
Who will worry that you got home late?
Who will love you in that terrifyingly unconditional way?

Because the truth is-
nobody loves like mothers do

No f*cking one.

Not with that kind of patience.
Not with that kind of sacrifice.
Not with that terrifying level of devotion
where they will break themselves apart quietly
just to keep you whole.

And children are so cruel sometimes
without meaning to be.

We roll our eyes.
We answer rudely.
We stay in our rooms too long.
We think there will always be more time.

But time is vicious.
Because mothers do not stay forever.

Look at your mother carefully.

Look at the woman
who spent years carrying pain silently
so you could grow safely.

Before someday becomes a photograph.

Though countless bullets sought to still their voice, the truth they carry cannot be destroyed.

Today, we celebrate Press Freedom Day, to remember and instill the voices that call for accountability, fairness, and truth. Not in silence, but in boldness, keeping alive the spirit of a free and fearless press.

May this legacy embolden more voices to speak without fear, for truth only triumphs when we refuse to be silenced.

The event focused on helping TES and TDP grantees open their own bank accounts, which is a required step to receive their government financial aid.

ELECTION UPDATES | DÉJÀ VU?

Ballots remain blank as zero applicants appeared, just two days before the deadline of filling of candidacy on Central Student Government (CSG).

Despite application extension, no student from the LCC community have step forward to fill a position in the highest student governing body, resulting in yet another election without candidates.

This marks the second occurrence of this situation during campus-wide elections.
