NEWS | Tipan seats as Interim SC Chairperson

After shelved Central Student Government (CSG) elections, newly installed Student Affairs Office - Officer-in-Charge (SAO-OIC), Mr. Patrick Joseph De Ocampo gathered representatives of Institutional Student Organizations (ISO), to establish a temporary set of officers, held at Testing Room Center, January 14.

Flagging the name "Interim Student Council Officers," the parliamentary body, through initiation, agreed Louise Adeline Tipan of College of Education and Liberal Arts as the Interim Chairperson, while Charmaine Alagar of College of Criminal Justice Education as Vice Chairperson.

Alongside, Jude Renzo Oseña of College Computing Technology and Engineering vowed for Secretary post, Jairo Escamillas of College of Business and Accointancy for Treasurer, Jules Macuha of College of International Tourism and Hospitality Management as Sports Committee Head, and Mervin Christian Vergara of College of Nursing as Culture & Arts Committee Head.

SAO-OIC emphasized that the new set of officers is crucial to set standard for the new face of student leadership.

"They will be the one na mag-set ng standard in terms of their willingness, their values about student leadership and engagement. Na isa sila sa magrealize ng ating vision in terms of humility and servanthood," shared Mr. De Ocampo.

Meanwhile, Tipan as serving President of Lipa City Colleges Psychology Society (LCCPS), of her department, opened her sentiments about the new position.

"I won't deny about it. Kinakabahan pa rin ako, but I am also committed rin as a student and as a President sa CELA," uttered Tipan in an interview.

"Pero I think magiging magaan naman 'to, kasi I am not working alone, I am working with the whole student body," she added.

Furthermore, the interim council is set to carry the abovementioned office's activities, lined up for the remainders of academic year.

NEWS | LCC records 100% passing rate in LET ‘25, generates 9 new teachers

Lipa City Colleges (LCC) proudly achieved 100 percent passing rate among first-time takers in the September and November 2025 Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET), with all of its examinees successfully earning their professional teaching licenses.

Of the nine examinees who took the LET, three were first-time takers who all passed, achieving a 100% passing rate for first-time examinees. The remaining six were repeaters, who took the exam again as part of their continued professional development.

Overall, LCC recorded a 33.33% passing rate from the total of nine examinees, underscoring the institution's outstanding performance among first-time takers.

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) released the nationwide LET results, reporting that 79,696 out of 122,528 elementary and secondary examinees successfully passed the board examination, this translates to a nationwide passing rate of 65.04 percent, marking one of the highest recorded in recent history.

The combined results cover two examination periods conducted on September 21 and November 30, 2025, which were administered across multiple testing centers nationwide, including select international locations.

According to the PRC, 21,967 out of 43,035 elementary examinees passed the examination, posting a passing rate of 51.04 percent. Meanwhile, the secondary level recorded a significantly higher performance, with 57,729 passers out of 79,493 examinees, equivalent to a 72.62 percent passing rate.
