It took me years-long and hard years to realize simple but difficult:
something the only real remedy for the weight of depression is to push yourself out the door, every single time you can, even when every part of you screams to stay inside, to hide away from the world.
Because when you're trapped in your own mind,
when darkness feels endless and the silence deafening,
the smallest step outside can be a lifeline-a reminder that life still moves, that fresh air still exists, that light still breaks through even the thickest clouds.
It's never easy.
You don't always want to go.
But slowly, day by day, that simple act of leaving becomes a quiet rebellion-a way to fight back against the heaviness, a way to prove to yourself that even when your heart feels broken, you can still keep moving forward.
