Hard Pill to Swallow: People Will Always Have Something To Say
"Bakit 'yan nagt-training?"
"Wala pa rin 'yang benta."
"Mas magaling diyan si ano."
I've heard it all, and I know many of you have too. I won't tell you to just let them be; I want to tell you to keep going. The words they say will hurt your pride, question your worth, and make you doubt whether you should still continue, but never let them define you and hinder you from achieving your goals.
When people always have something negative to say, even when you're genuinely just doing your best, remember that it says more about them than it does about you. While you grind, they watch. While you hustle, they talk. They're not ruining your reputation, they're ruining theirs. No matter what, you still win in the end because you will have no regrets or troubled conscience, only the fulfillment that comes from working hard.
So keep doing what you're doing as long as it is honorable, makes you happy, and puts food on your table. Remember that God, not people, is the only one you need to please. He qualifies the unqualified and gives wisdom to those who walk in integrity.
When the voices of those people start getting loud in your head, it's okay to pause and rest to quiet them down. But never stop!
If no one has told you this in a while, I will: I am proud of you, and I am cheering for you! 🫡
