Honoring Excellence, Commitment, and Legacy at PAFBMS
On 06 March 2025, the Philippine Air Force Basic Military School (PAFBMS) gathered at the PAFBMS Grandstand in a resounding display of tradition, camaraderie, and excellence. This significant occasion marked the Awarding of the Flight Right of Line for Basic Military Training Class 2025A, the Fun Shoot Awarding, and the Send-off for Outgoing Personnel—bridging the past, present, and future of our institution.
The event was led by COL LEE M SARPAMONES PAF (MNSA), School Commandant, who set the tone with a compelling address on the importance of discipline, leadership, and the relentless pursuit of excellence. His words served as a guiding beacon, inspiring both trainees and personnel to uphold the highest standards of service and commitment.
Flight Right of Line Awarding
The Flight Right of Line Ceremony marked a significant milestone in the journey of BMT CL 2025A, where Flight Oscar emerged as the top-performing flight among 16 competitive flights. Their achievement was a result of unwavering discipline, teamwork, and resilience, setting a high standard for their peers.
Leading the awarding, 1LT AARON NATHANIEL C TORRES PAF, Head of the Military Training Department, emphasized the rigorous evaluation process that determined this prestigious recognition. More than just an award, the Flight Right of Line distinction symbolizes leadership, excellence, and the relentless pursuit of improvement—values deeply embedded in every airman.
PAFBMS Fun Shoot Awarding
Further strengthening the spirit of camaraderie, the PAFBMS Fun Shoot took place over two days, from 03 to 04 March 2025, challenging participants to demonstrate precision, discipline, and marksmanship under competitive conditions. The event brought together PAFBMS personnel, who tested their skills with M16 rifles and G***k pistols, reinforcing core military values of accuracy, control, and teamwork—attributes vital for every airman.
As the competition unfolded, participants showcased their tactical prowess, competing for the top spots. After intense rounds of shooting, Team 9, comprised of 1LT JULIUS CEASAR M DE LEON PAF, MSg Maximo V Dimaano PAF, A1C Leonard Spike R Valdez PAF, AW2C Carla Marie M De Silva PAF, and AM John Noe V Bayhon PAF, secured the Championship.
Following closely, Team 6, led by COL LEE M SARPAMONES PAF, with TSg Jerwin P Guerra PAF, Sgt Mark Anthony B Fernandez PAF, Sgt Sheramae B Ramos PAF, and AM Angelo Keene C Baroy PAF, earned the 1st Runner-Up position.
Completing the top contenders, Team 4, comprised of 2LT MYBELL G GERNAL PAF, MSg Ronie T Repulda PAF, TSg Ryan L Abiera PAF, Sgt Patrick G Gongob PAF, and AM Jeffrey B Collado PAF, claimed the 2nd Runner-Up spot.
Beyond the competition, the Fun Shoot served as a valuable training exercise, reinforcing teamwork, focus, and mastery of firearms—qualities that are critical in both training and real-world scenarios. It was a reminder that excellence in marksmanship is not only about individual skill but about unit cohesion, trust, and shared responsibility, embodying the very essence of military readiness and operational effectiveness.

PAFBMS also extended its gratitude to support personnel who played an integral role in ensuring the success of the Fun Shoot and the event as a whole.
The success of the event would not have been possible without the dedicated efforts of the medical and range support personnel, who ensured safety, efficiency, and professionalism throughout the competition. Providing crucial medical assistance, SSg Manilyn T Binohlan PAF, Sgt(T) Jesphyr Nick B Alabata PAF and A2C Francis D Lescano PAF played a vital role in attending to the needs of participants and ensuring their well-being. Meanwhile, MSg Wendell DM Meñiosa PAF (RET) and MSg Henry N Mercado PAF, serving as Range Officers.
Recognizing Outgoing Personnel
As part of the ceremony, PAFBMS honored its outgoing personnel, individuals who have dedicated years of service to the institution and played a vital role in shaping the next generation of airmen. TSg Ramil M Valle 848510 PAF and Sgt Emmanuel M Sarmiento Jr 905030 PAF were recognized for their unwavering commitment, professionalism, and contributions to the school's mission. Their service leaves a lasting impact, serving as an inspiration for those who will continue to uphold the values of excellence, leadership, and dedication in the Philippine Air Force Basic Military School.
A Grand Culmination
The ceremony concluded with a stirring display of unity and pride as voices rose in the Himno ng PAFBMS and the PAF Hymn, followed by a Pass-in-Review—a salute to those who lead, those who follow, and those who will carry our mission forward.
