The second batch of graduates from the College of Management and Tourism (CMT) and College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE) marched in the 11th Commencement Exercises, where Magna Cum Laude Arianne Justine U. Arroza emphasized the graduates’ readiness to shape the future in her farewell address, held in the afternoon at Multipurpose Hall, Bldg. C, July 2.
University administrators, faculty members, and proud families gathered to witness the milestone event as 268 graduates—comprising 210 from the CMT and 58 from the CCJE —took the stage in celebration of their academic journey.
Throughout their academic journey, graduates faced challenges that helped shape their readiness for the professional world. While they learned to handle their own upon their journey, the wisdom shared by Mrs. Mary Grace Dimacili, founder of Mary Grace Cafe and honorable guest speaker, served as a guide for what lies ahead. She imparted four valuable lessons: to wait, embrace humble beginnings, sanctification, and putting family as the core.
“All will come away with something gained, and life goes on. With more chances, up ahead to strive and walk,” Mrs. Dimacili said.
Arianne Justine U. Arroza, a Magna Cum Laude graduate from BS International Hospitality Management, has also shared a reminder that growth doesn’t always stem from success but from the wavering position to stay, to stand, and to keep showing; a motivation that urges everyone to pause but never stop, and to keep going even when it feels impossible.
“The future doesn’t really begin tomorrow. We are the future, and we are already here.” Arozza said, a message that resonated with many graduates.
The Pledge of Loyalty was led by Shello Juvelle C. Francisco, a BS Criminology graduating student and UB Achiever. This was followed by the formal induction of graduates into the UB Alumni Association, announced by Ms. Princess Erica Manalo, a proud alumna from Batch 2023.
This step marked the beginning of a new chapter in the graduates’ lives, as they prepare to transition from academic life to professional careers and future endeavors.
