Student journalists from Ang Tanglaw and The New Light, the official school publications of Lopez National Comprehensive High School (LNCHS), once again demonstrated their excellence in campus journalism after securing several awards at the Division Schools Press Conference (DSPC) 2026 held on September 4-6 in Gumaca, Quezon.
Leading the roster of qualifiers for the Reconfigured Regional Schools Press Conference (RRSPC) were Estelle Kezia A. Chavez, who clinched 1st Place in Mobile Journalism Filipino, and Hero C. Ortega, who secured 1st Place in Editorial Cartooning Filipino. They were joined by Princess Kyle S. Papa, who placed 2nd in News Writing English, and Monica Liana C. Escobar, who earned 2nd Place in TV Broadcasting News Presenter English.
Meanwhile, other LNCHS delegates also secured notable finishes in their respective events. Mark Jerome M. Caparros placed 2nd in TV Broadcasting Technical Director English, while Jayden Rich F. Villarubia, Naomi Jilliane R. Abrigo, and James Kendrick V. Ortega each earned 3rd Place in TV Broadcasting Anchor English, Scriptwriter English, and Development Communication English, respectively.
In the Filipino division, John Zydrick M. Caparros secured 3rd Place in TV Broadcasting Technical Director Filipino, while Unno Aiden Gabriel R. Llanza placed 4th in Column Writing Filipino. Helena Andrei V. Zabala and Queyan Chev M. Quincena likewise earned 6th Place in Editorial Writing English and 7th Place in Sports Writing English, respectively.
In the group events, the TV Broadcasting English team secured 3rd Place, while the TV Broadcasting Filipino team finished 4th. The LNCHS delegates also placed 6th in Collaborative Desktop Publishing English, 6th in Collaborative Desktop Publishing Filipino, and 6th in Online Publishing Filipino.
