IN PHOTOS | Bureau of Plant Industry-Los Baños Hosts Field Day, fourth-year BSA - Crop Sci., participates.
The Bureau of Plant Industry – Los Baños National Crop Research Development and Production Support Center (BPI-LBNCRDPSC) spearheaded a Field Day at Lucban, Quezon in the KOPIA-funded Project in which selected fourth-year students from the Southern Luzon State University (SLSU) - College of Agriculture, BSA Major in Crop Science joined the activity, Friday, Sept. 12.
The event brought together participants from various farmer groups and organizations including the Samahang Magpapalay ng Lucban, Rural Improvement Club, Likas Association of Lucban, Cacao Farmer Class of Kulapi, Lucban Dairy Raiser Association, KOPIA members from Siniloan, and the Committee on Agriculture of Lucban.
Furthermore, participants visited greenhouse facilities where KOPIA SIPAG members of Lucban and BPI experts showcased their crop management practices and modern agricultural technologies. Moreover, booth exhibits featuring Ramgo and Allied Botanical Corporation's various vegetable seeds and varieties are displayed during the event's proper, and are provided brochures for the attendees.
Meanwhile, the event was graced by the presence of the College of Agriculture (CAg), Dean, Dr. Juanita San Jose and Program Chairperson of Agriculture Engr. Mina Florague.
Overall, the Field Day highlighted the strong collaboration between BPI, KOPIA, local government, farmer organizations, and private sector partners in advancing sustainable agriculture and strengthening support for farmers in the region.
